Just like to add as a person that has had ALOT of experience doing this. The GVC Is the worst screen this year it has way more green tint than the GH3 (I’ve had two) the GH3 has a very very small amount of grain to it if you look close and less green tint than the GVC when tilting the top of the screen towards you. G9N is the best I’ve seen so far, no grain, whites are perfect. No pink tint and perfectly uniform but I may have just got lucky.

GH3 I would put as the second best screen. In no way is it the worst. I even think it handles blues better than Samsung. I just can’t get past the poor viewing angles vs Samsung.

Not long ago, I talked about my experience visiting several Apple Stores, where I found that over 60% of the displays with Samsung panels had some sort of pink hue or lack of uniformity. It seems you didn’t read that message.

Nor did you see the many others from users reporting the same issue with their iPhones that have Samsung panels — in case you don’t take my word for it.

In fact, I’ve sometimes thought about gathering all those reports together, but I haven’t done it to avoid bothering the people who posted them with notifications from weeks-old messages.

Anyway, it doesn’t really matter. Everyone should enjoy the panel they like best.

This whole Samsung vs LG “war” already seems ridiculous to me.
I believe I might have read it . My point being that as much as pros lack uniformity, they're still (in my experience at least when I tested them in store) , less prone to these issues that the other models .

I'm not saying it's Samsung or lg. just that , from what I have seen, the pros are less likely to exhibit a problematic panel than the max , for example

went to Apple Store yesterday and every single pro max had green shift, some more than others, on other hand regular pro did not have this issue based on what i saw
The only thing that I've noticed with my Pro vs my Air is the Pro is a little warmer. The Air has a G9Q and seems to have a cooler temp, nothing drastic but noticeable side by side. Not side by side you can't tell.

Nothing wrong with my GVC, so I disagree.

Same here. 3GVC on the 3 Air units, 3 flawless and very nice screen.

1GVC on the pro max, nice crisp, very neutral white. Love it.
Just A slight shift toward green when the phone is tilted toward me, but absolutely nothing bothersome.
I too have the GVC and it's perfect. Very nice Crisp, very clear, neutral white. No shift on green at all. Samsungs I had were bad this year for me as they were pinkish and I don't like having pink screen.

Any shift toward green when tilted means the display is indeed NOT "flawless". But honestly... I don't think any are truly perfect. Even my G9Q Air and G9N PM have an ever so slight shift toward blue when tilted down. It's just OLED.

Though I MUCH prefer a blue shift vs green personally.

If you ask me, an OLED screen that shows a slight green shift only when I tilt it into an unnatural position and has no other flaws is flawless to me. After five generations of Pro Max models with G9N panels showing pink blotches—where I had to pick the least uneven one—I just care about having a neutral white, uniform, beautiful, and bright display.

Who cares if lab tests reveal a slight green shift? Over the years, I’ve seen much worse!

The so-called “green” shift is not green; it’s cyan. When I asked people about the color they see in my GVC when tilted, all of them said “blue.”

I don’t know where this whole story began — the idea that any panels starting with certain letters are always better than others. Take a look at the last few pages of this thread, where the 15 Pros are.

It’s crazy that after all that, and everything so many users have explained here, we’re still stuck on the nonsense that one brand is better than another.

Samsung panels have, and have always had, an inherent issue with poor uniformity and pink tint, I’m not making it up.

I tilt it into an unnatural position
hm but when two persons sitting on both sides from the one who is holding the GVC iphone then the people sitting on the sides will see a green unnatural cast on the display (e.g. doing together some facetime with the family). Is it an "unnatural position" to sit next to a person who is holding the iphone and watch together some content on the iPhone? I would also call it a defect because I would expect this use case should just work on a pro phone.

EDIT: it is a 17 PM GVC, 6.9 inch

So you’re really bringing up the case of two people staring at the same 6.3-inch screen and spotting a green tint while doing a FaceTime call?

Alright then — guess we’ve officially reached peak nitpicking.

*Names a flaw, calls it flawless*. Make it make sense…

My point was that absolute perfection seemingly doesn’t exist with ANY of our panels. Even if we personally cannot perceive any hints of pink tint, unevenness or green/blue shift.

What matters is if it’s noticeable enough to be bothersome in your own personal use.

I just realized that my regular 12 GVC panel never made me obsessed with color uniformity, even though it had non-uniform color at the top and bottom which I never noticed during 5 years living with it. Until.. I bought 17pro(G9P) last month and felt a bit pinkish at the bottom of the screen so I found this topic that made me obsessed a lot when looking at the screen lol. This would be because the new device is much more expensive.
Psychologically, I would have too many expectations of it, even though it has fewer flaws than my regular 12, since the screen of the 17pro is much better.

Therefore, this 12 brings peace to me today hahah.

As you can see, its screen is darker at the top and bottom by paying attention to it

Either they won’t believe you, or they’ll think it’s a feature, not an issue, because it says “G9N” somewhere in a text file.

Now, more seriously — my partner finally got tired of using my old 15 Pro G9N. As some of you who’ve been reading all the messages in this thread might remember, I used that 15 Pro for about a year and a bit. It never really convinced me — surprise, surprise — because it wasn’t uniform and had a bit of a pink hue. But I never thought it was bad enough to return it. I also never denied that those issues existed.

Long story short, she got a perfectly uniform GVC Air again. Just like mine. The 15 Pro is going to her niece.

I have seen three GH3 Panels (all in 16 PM) in past 04 months. Probably the best displays, I have ever seen in 11 years of owning iPhone. Bright, Uniform, Neutral without any tint.

My 17 PM(512) has G9P Panel which again is perfectly uniform without any tint, however its slightly warm in comparison to GH3.

Checkout out a colleague's 17 Pro, which has G9P panel. It was also uniform without any tint, but it's temperature was even warmer in comparison to G9P.

So, yes its a lottery.
