I mean you could always try again, and chances are that you could always receive something that could be worse than your current one you have.

I finally lucked out in getting a 512 GB Deep Blue 17 Pro max that has a G9N screen and is perfectly uniform (Of all the one's I had before, that same model always GVC or GH3). no pink tint (as that is a Samsung characteristics). Only down side of this one is that back glass slightly protrudes out a bit as I can feel it, but my phone is always in a case so that is a non-issue for me.
That's basically what I mean... I had one device here where the back cover wasn't fitted quite right. But you could only feel it if you ran your finger right over it. THAT bothered me. So much that I didn't even turn it on, but immediately repackaged it and sent it back. Everyone has different standards. I want to resell my device eventually, and for that, it's important that it's flawless on the outside as well. Others don't mind minor flaws, or red displays, or whatever. I think that's become clear in this thread: YOU YOURSELF have to like your device; there are no universally applicable devices.

@CrazyFrog1: You can play the lottery again if you want. Keep your current iPhone until you can compare it to the new one, and then send back the inferior one.

Trust me. I had one where the back glass was actually protruding much more than my current one and that one bothered me a lot so I had to return that one unfortunately, that one also was G9N. This current one does have it protruding right below the plateau but it's very minimal and I can tolerate that. There isn't a perfect iPhone, you just have to pick your poison I guess.

Edit to add: Worst Case Scenario, This phone falls under an extended Holiday Return Policy, so I have till January 8, 2026 to initiate the return online (which then gives me till 1/22/2026 for apple to receive it). So I have enough time to decide if I want to try again or just stick with what I have since the screen is so perfect.

Another photo completely in the dark

I don't know if I should change it. I've had 4 iPhone 17 pro Max. I think this is the best. I have also noticed that it has more brightness than the previous 3 (GVC). I don't know if it's a coincidence?
The bottom is slightly more yellow than the top so it’s not uniform. However, I’m beginning to think perfect screens are a bit of a unicorn 😒

I'm just curious, but did someone get their screen replaced at the Apple Store (not a phone replacement, but just the screen)? If so, what manufacturer came with the new screen? And what was the overall result, i.e., better or even worse screen? Thx
I did, release day 17 PM (silver, 512GB through Verizon) with crappy green tint GH3 - display cracked and replaced through AC+, new screen is G9N and much better. No tint, slightly warmer but not as warm as GH3, and as best I can tell uniform side to side and top to bottom. May be slightly less bright (could be screen protector) but overall great screen

Oh, a new lottery player! I'm curious, please keep us updated! 😎😅😅
The new phone arrived today and has a fantastic screen . G9N
It’s very similar to the G9P on the regular 17.

It could be. Many people saying that their screens are perfect but I don't see their white backgrounds to analyze.
