i just give old iphone to friend and upgrade.
its whatever, $ is just a thing. i spent 199 out the door at att, i didnt get charged an activation fee. then 85 on a case, *lifeproof 2nd gen* i LOVE IT. and then spent $95 on a 2 year warranty/ and accidental warranty with squaretrade. so i still spent 400 almost.

Presumably, you won't get a qualifying price again for 16+ months, so if the next iPhone were to drop within 12 months you may or may not qualify, and if it drops in early Summer of next year you definitely will have to pay full price.

Sorry I was implying that ajcadoo is very ignorant, that's all. ;)

Totally worth it. I love how much louder it is, the better camera and video, and being able to just pick up the phone and say "text Rick I'll be a half hour late" while I"m driving, instead of either pulling over or waiting til red lights to peck at letters on a keyboard. It's also a lot snappier, stuff opens faster, ect. Worthy upgrade.

I think the siri is a great idea honestly, i think more phones should implement it. would make the road safer, my 21st birthday (july 29th of this year) lady ran a redlight going 60mph why she was texting. tore front of my car off.

i havnt used siri yet honestly. told it to set my alarm thats it, i need to find out what its capable of first (a list anywhere of siri commands?) but i think it would help prevent people from texting and driving. I see atleast 5-10 people everyday texting n driving, whether actively moving or at a redlight. or beside me or passing me.. rather dangerous.

A little early too answer, but I use mine for work for pictures (lots). I like having the higher quality camera, but not absolutely necessary. It is faster, but not unbelievably so. Siri has be a 'toy' so far. I'm sure it will become the norm for texting. She does make mistakes. I'm guessing 20% of the times I've asked something she messes up at least one word (but so are my regular typed texts). I think for the iPhone 4 masses that an upgrade would not be warranted. Hold out for June 2012, my guesstimate for the next latest greatest iPhone.

For me it was worth it sold my iPhone 4 16GB for 350 bucks and purchased a 32Gb iPhone 4S only paying like 19 bucks out of pocket.

They may offer it for the full discount + $250 like they do for some users now who upgraded late which wouldn't be a bad deal since you could easily sell your iPhone 4S at that time for probably half of what that upgrade cost would be.

"iPhone 5" isn't even a real thing.

haha the best buy manager in aurora, IL seems to think so. She asked me if I was sure I wanted to upgrade now, because the iphone 5 is coming in spring. Mmmk sure thing lol.

On topic, if my iPhone 4 wasn't damaged, I would have kept it and waited for the next one. While the iPhone 4S is pretty bad a$$, I think Apple could have come up with more in the 15 month lapse since the launch of iPhone 4.

iphone 4s = mehhhhhhhhh

same freaking thing with a few minor upgrades. siri is more of a gimmick at the moment. i'm sure one day it will be fantastic, but for now it's just a novelty. the extra speed is good and all, but not enough to make me go out of the way and get this.

iphone 5 for me please! lol

Really to early to ask this question. I upgrade every year because my main line with ATT gets a yearly upgrade since the 2g. I sell my old phone which more times than not pays for new one with a profit. This time no profit because I went for the 64 g size. My wife uses her phone till allow upgrade so no 4s atm. We both granfathered into unlimited so until they do away with it, which when full LTE comes into play they will, then ill deal with that decision them.

My intital thoughts are love the extra storage and camera. Siri will take getting use too and will be a wait to see how useful it really is. Im sure more updates will be forthcoming. The stabilizer on the video camera at 1080 is really nice. I use a mophie case most of time so battery is never an issue for me. In all I am happy with with but would only get at the discount, never would i pay the 250 upgrade price for this.

Siri alone would have been worth it to me, let alone the awesome camera. And for those of us with little patience, the upgraded speed is a huge selling point.

The REAL idiot, is anyone who thinks another Iphone will be released in under a year.

Definitely worth the upgrade for me, especially considering I can sell my 4 to recoup the loss.

I notice a speed difference, the dictation and Siri was welcome features and the camera is nice.

I have a suspicion that everyone who is complaining about it being a minor update would be freaking out if actually included a new design and nothing more over the 4S.

Bro when you sign a contract and then you only paid 19 bucks....you better start using your head. You have just extended your contract buddy...you think you actually pay only 19 bucks on top...think again.

It's pointless hearing from people that have the 4 and just want to talk about how it would be a waste to upgrade to the 4S. You guys have already had a couple weeks to complain about how upgrading isn't worth it, etc. etc.

Can we please hear more from the people that actually DID move from a 4 to a 4S and what their actual experiences are?

To those that have made the move from the 4 to the 4S, thanks for the info. It might really be useful to some people who are on the fence.

when you sign a new contract, if you have 2 months left of old contract, and you sign a new 2 year contract, you only have 24 months from that minute u signed the line, the other 2 months are void. its not 24+2.

Yes so you still extend your contract for another two years...two years is more than 19 bucks bro. And for ANYONE with an iPhone 4, none of your contracts is near expiry date...get real.

My poiint here is if you 'think' you are saving money, you are not.

I still have my iPhone 4 and bought the 4S anyway... I told myself I didn't need to upgrade but I couldn't resist and plus I wanted a white iPhone this time... And I can say I don't regret it!! The thing is fast not just when opening apps but when downloading stuff , the browser is wicked fast now, the camera is awesome, siri is just unreal, it works so well and the color white, just gorgeous, longer battery , you get the point!! If you got the $$$ to buy it, it will be a nice upgrade but for people on contract better wait for the next one!

I really have no choice, att- im grandfathered into unlimited + here in alaska att is the only true coverage provider. verizon say they have coverage but they dont, sprint roams completely.

i pay 125 for 2 phones, 1 being mine unlimited data/text/700 anytime etc. i didnt pay a activation or upgrade fee. was 199 and out the door i went, and they also gave me 10 off my credit bill somehow, i got refunded for shipping charges on a order they canceled, so it took my balance to 115 lol. and so 189 i paid for my iphone. 2 years is fine with me, because unlimited. atleast i know i cant get bumped off the data for atleast another 2 years.

...Which is why phone companies are so rich, because people think "Hurp durp why not get an iphone 4s because I only have to pay $19... this is the real deal!"
