Not to be critical but the new iPhone is made of stainless steel and really scratch resistant glass, and most of us like the look of it so why do all you guys want to put it in a case?

Sseems to me that this is the best phone yet to go naked! Plus you know in a year you will get new one anyways...

Skin it if you are scared, that bumper ruins it

I don't think these bumpers are there to prevent scratches, but to offer shock absorption if dropped. I would rather have the bumper crack than my screen. And it looks like it recesses the screen enough from taking a direct hit if dropped.

Those bumpers are very un-apple like. I mean the iPhone has some very striking lines and looks. The bumper detracts from that and while it provides a modicum of protection, it really impacts the looks negatively.

Interesting...these actually look much better than I expected.

However, for me Ill just stick with a single invisible shield on the back and a screen protector on the front. Ive never dropped my phone so the only thing Im worried about is scratches. ;)

Apple made a sock for your iPod, how is the bumper surprising?

I'm definitely going to buy one of those bumpers, if for nothing less than they will cover up the *functional, but aesthetically displeasing* cut-lines in the stainless steel. Plus I don't want to dent, crack, or break my iPhone, so it just makes good sense to use something like this.

It's hilarious how people talk about how nice they look -- as if a case is primarily for decoration like a brooch.

How does the bumper really protect the iPhone? Seems marginal at best. If it falls on its side the buttons are still 100% exposed raised above the bumper. It it hits an uneven rocky surface, say a gravel parking area, a bumper isn't going to save anything.

Those buttons ( volume up and down) are actually buttons on top of buttons so the actualy buttons of the iPhone wouldn't be damaged.

95% of the time these will definitely provide shock absorption when dropped. It's the other 5% that maybe it will hit a corner of something and dent the class... But who is going to be dropping it that often.

It does look like it fits in the dock, I'm still trying to figure out what part of the bumper is the more rubbery material vs harder plastic. And I still feel like a black iPhone with white bumper would look sick

The buttons you see on the Bumper are not the phone's buttons, they're metal buttons embedded in the bumper. They cover the actual buttons. Only the silent switch is exposed.

Right that's what I was saying, plus the silent switch isn't really exposed, it's pretty deep in there. It would be hard to scratch or damage it in a fall.

I don't know if I like apples case, but I like the idea of just protecting the sides so I wanted to find some pics to see how bulky they are.

They actually seam nice, now the bigger deciding factor is will the material it's made out of allow me to slide it in and out of my pocket easily

Oh and I think a black iPhone with a white one would be cool

And what's up with apple and these Easter egg color choices?

I see what you thar

wow that looks terrible, the color doesn't help either. Its like wearing a cartoon bugs bunny tie with an armani suit.

I agree that the bumper would protect the phone pretty well in the majority of falls due to the raised lip protecting the front and back and the flat back of the iPhone 4. The surfaces of the phone are not likely to come into contact if you drop it on a concrete surface or tile floor for example while in a bumper.

Wow thanks! I think the bumpers look great, and well-made. I'll get black on black, or green maybe :)

I am thinking either black or white...I think the contrast of the white bumper on my black phone might be interesting...maybe I should get both, and just return the one I don't like as much.
