I am thinking either black or white...I think the contrast of the white bumper on my black phone might be interesting...maybe I should get both, and just return the one I don't like as much.

Someone made a mock-up of a black iPhone with all the bumpers...white didn't look that great IMO. But it looked great with black or a color.

Here's the thing....

I don't know about you guys but I have
dropped my iPhone many times.

Once on the streets of New York city
glass front first.

However, never has the glass shattered
or the phone been damaged. I attribute
that to the Richard Solo case the company
gave me for free when I bought their
iPhone battery.

So, I am all for the bumper IF it
can protect the front and back of the
phone from breakage when dropped.
That means that it needs a durable outer
strip along the front edge that will protect
hard surfaces from ever touching the phone
when dropped.

Are you guys fairly confident this bumper
can protect the phone from a drop?

The bumpers look like they'd do a good job at protecting the phone from a fall on a flat surface.
Drop it on rocks or something bumpy and it won't help.
But they made it to protect the stainless steel from scratches and the front and back from getting the full impact of the ground on a flat surface.

Antenna Reception?

So, Apple comes up with an ingenious solution to use the frame of the iPhone as a main antenna source. Does the bumper case inhibit the antenna from working as well as it should?

It does look like it fits in the dock, I'm still trying to figure out what part of the bumper is the more rubbery material vs harder plastic. And I still feel like a black iPhone with white bumper would look sick

The center is plastic and the outer edges are rubber. Look at the reflectivity of the center vs the outside in the pictures.

What site might that be?

Some prices are just ok, but some are good. For example, an AC power adapter and cable is $29 at Apple, but $20 on there ($12 for the AC adapter and $8 for the USB cable). On the the other side, they wanted $25 for a Griffin Powerjolt car charger, where Apple charged $20. They also appear to list regular price one some items over the actual retail price, that way their sale prices look even better. Most things are still 20-40% cheaper than you can get it in a store. They have a huge case selection for the 3G and 3GS too. I'd expect it to be pretty good shortly after launch.

They do have a $4 shipping charge (free over $50), so it's a little better to order a few things at once. I used to see if my brother or sisters needed anything before I ordered, and my coworkers too.

I really like them, I will probably just get a black one for a black iPhone though. Don't know if it has been mentioned but on the back you can see the phone is raised up about 2mm, that should stop all those nasty hairline scratches that we all know about too well!

I wonder why all of these press pics only have the bumper on the white phone.

I like how thin the bumper keeps the phone

it's gonna kill the antenna range

Since when does plastic/rubber kill the antenna range???

The antenna on the 3G/3GS was buried underneath a plastic outer case. In addition, people put plastic cases on top of that. My range has never been affected by plastic. I don't think you know what you're talking about.

Yea, i truthfully don't know much about what affects cell signals, but i doubt its affected heavily by plastic, metals the only thing that will really harm it.

Though i am curious as to if it does affect it a little.

Not to be a grammar nazi, but "affect" is the verb. I wouldn't have mentioned it
but you made the same error 3 times.

That pic of the pink one is very nice, and a lot thinner than I was expecting...I would love to see a real pic of a black one on a black iPhone.
It's just a shame it's so expensive. I think apple would move a lot more of these things at $19.

I may pick up the black one for my black iPhone, I'd like to have some protection on it when I get it. I don't know how soon other manufacturers will have cases out for the new iPhone.
