I got sick of those threads full of gloaters who are getting 9/20 deliveries. When I made comments I got accused of spoiling the vibe for them. Awww, too bad you lucky SOBs. So here’s one for the rest of us.

I ordered a space grey Max Pro 512 as soon as the store opened and was appalled to see that the delivery dates were already at least a week delayed. (9/27-10/1) That indicates to me that the 512 models were never available right from the start. It would have been nice if I had known there were production delays on that model or color. I could have picked a different color in that case.

Serious question. Is it really that important to have it on day one? If you get yours 2 weeks after the launch day people, their excitement is gone and yours is just beginning.

It is important to have it when expected. I have a trade in locked in, and need to send my old phone in by a 9/29. My launch day phone with Verizon is now showing it will not arrive until 10/09.

Don’t most trade-ins require you to send old phone back within 30 days after receiving new phone? How can they force you to send in your old phone before receiving new one? You would be forced to have no phone for a period of time. You should double check.

It doesn't mean you're screwed over. You get it when you get it. I was right there first thing to order as well and my date is a week later. Just the way it goes for whatever reason. Just because you order within minutes doesn't guarantee launch day. There are more important things in life to worry about.

Of course they were. I, my wife, and my son all pre-ordered 512GB 11 Pro Max (two green, one grey) as soon as the store opened and all have 9/20 dates.

It sucks that by the time you got yours into the pipe it had slipped a week, but they absolutely were available at the beginning.

Not sure if this helps or not but the reviews I’ve read are stating that iOS 13 is very buggy and one I read actually recommended to wait until 13.1. So by not getting it immediately it may actually work out better for you.

I've been running 13.0 since beta 3 and the last few betas have been pretty stable. I haven't tried 13.1 yet because I want to be able to restore from backup when I get my Pro on friday and don't want to find out the Pro can't download the dev beta profile. I'd be surprised if it couldn't, but I don't want to take that chance.

I get mine on 9/20 ( tentatively) and guess what.... on 9/21 (maybe sooner) the excess dopamine is gone and I’m back to thinking it’s just a #%$! phone, who gives a !@$#

Apple restocks in-store iPhones on a daily basis. Just use iStockNow to get a notification at 6AM and order for pickup the same day on 9/21, 9/22, etc. That's how I got the iPhone X and Gold SS S4 Watch both shortly after launch... No pre-order, no lines.

Gloater here. Just wanted to say how great it is to have been one of the skillful pre order veterans who secured a launch day phone for the 5th year in a row. No luck here, all skill.

I wasn't gloating at all. I even empathized with your situation. That said, you presented a theory that the 512GB Pro Max phones weren't available at the start of pre-order, and I'm just pointing out they were, at least until they sold out. I don't know how many they had (by color, carrier, etc), or how quickly they sold out, but clearly they did have some as many people can attest to.

Never will understand these threads. How did you get screwed over? Apple didn’t guarantee your pre-order would have a 9/20 delivery? There is nothing that Apple said about pre-ordering and getting 9/20 delivery date.
