As of August 7th, usage min per day went from 14 minutes a day per users in its initial launch to 3 minutes a day. For perspective, Twitter gets about 24 minutes a day today per user.

“Twitter currently has 237.8 millionmonetizable daily active users”

237Mx 24 mins = 5,688,000,000 minutes spent by humanity each day on Twitter. And God knows how much more if we include other social esp TikTok. Imagine where we could be if that time/potential was somehow used well.

Easy, there is one and only one solution for that: go Amish.
I mean, the solution has been easy for me - go to Threads. It’s true that it’s not as popular and noisy as Twitter, but that’s kinda part of why I like it. Though I do hope that some of the people I followed on Twitter do make it over eventually as things hopefully continue to grow.

where's racist post? give an example please
On Twitter? I mean, it’s kinda everywhere. I reported a post the other day that had the literal N word in it and I just got a response from Twitter that said they determined that the user didn’t violate any rules and they weren’t going to take any action? I dunno.

Also with the whole paid thing, I think it’s really lame that anytime I read the comments, all I see are the thoughts of wannabe influencers and Elon fanboys who paid $8. I want to know what people in general are saying. And I want my own comment to rise or fall based on its own value. Instead, it often never gets seen if you don’t pay.

Now you can’t even block people? I actually used to be a fan of Elon but everything he does seems like he’s actively *trying* to destroy Twitter… I mean X 🙄

I guess I’ll be contrarian. I’m absolutely loving Threads. It seems like all the ******s have abandoned it… and left all the civilized people there to have real conversations. I’m having no trouble finding tons of interesting people in my hobbies (cars, photography, budgeting) to follow… and it’s easy to have good conversations.

To everyone that hates Threads: that’s why there’s multiple options… go where your heart tells you to go. Many of us will still use it.

I just signed up for Threads last night. Extremely disappointed there is no iPad version of the app. Could not find the URL to just it in a browser. Why is this so hard to do?

As an app designer myself, it is quite a bit harder than you might think from the outside. One of their biggest priorities right now is a web app, so you will be able to use it in your browser soon. (An app designed specifically for the iPad might not be happening very soon though)
