i find it a bit odd when i see people arguing over things like twitter and threads, and bring up their leaders' political affiliations, while at the same time supporting a company like apple, which bends over backwards for a country like china. make this make sense.

Not sure if you're serious or not, but that's the age rating for people accessing the app (children 11 and below should not use it.)

Threads is words based. Instagram is really picture focussed. Some people you want to have conversations with or read what’s on their mind. And others you just want pics from. Do you really care about the thoughts of a super model? Maybe not.

Isn't that just web searches? Of course Twitter is going to be always trending, have you seen what's going on over there? Between renaming it to a letter and putting up and taking down a giant X sign and challenging Mark Zuckerberg to a cage match, Musk has made sure that he is always in the news (and surely that is the whole reason he's doing all this crap.)
