Why doesn't "Thee wifi call" show in the status bar all the time when on wifi? Is it because I have a strong Three signal anyway?
Yes, I believe will only show that when the 'cellular' connection is being routed through wifi rather than the cellular chip. So it's in indicator for you too

Sadly still not for BT Mobile customers, even though they use the same carrier network as EE and Three. BT seems to be stuck firmly in the last century, with an inferior product, appalling customer service, unintelligible agents at their call centres and a degraded signal strength from the network provider (EE). I wish I had never been tempted by their aggressive pricing and their promises of vastly improved service - all lies.

I Tweeted Three and they replied with...

You'll only use Wi-Fi Calling when you have low or zero mobile signal, as it's designed to prioritise use of our network. If you have a strong Three signal, you'll find that you rarely connect to Wi-Fi Calling.

We hope this helps :) >IL

You can get Voicemail Transcripts on any carrier which supports Visual Voicemail by changing SIRI language to US, with 6s or 7, (and 5SE I think). You don't have to be in the US. There is a long thread about in the EE forum confirming this.

I am on EE with iPhone 7+ but use HulloMail mentioned earlier. HulloMail provides Visual Voicemail and Voicemail Transcript. Like the earlier poster I started Hullomail when I was on Three, but stayed with it when I switched to EE.

I already know that but I'm not changing my Siri language just to get it. The reason they haven't got it enabled with Siri set to British at the moment is because the transcription service is not yet optimised for that accent.

One of the reasons I left Three for EE is because they had Wi-Fi calling built in, whereas Three used a crappy app that meant conversations were often disjointed between the app and the messages.app

This is a good step. I still won't switch back to Three though - EE has 4G in far more places, and faster speed too.
faster speeds is nice but hardly a huge deal. EE are still overpriced on all their contracts.

After over five years with a nice discrete '3' on the top left corner of my phone, seeing 'Three WiFi Call' looks so ugly and obnoxious. FWP

You should only see that when you have poor 3 signal and a wifi connection. If you have a strong 3 signal it should only display "3"

OK, asked threeuksupport via twitter:
When is 27.1 carrier update rolling to iOS 10.3 BETA? I am on setting 27.5.1 and no update. Are you going to push this setting to iOS 10.3 BETA?

Got reply saying:
there's no plans to roll this out at the moment. Customers need to be on iOS 10.2.1 and Three carrier settings 27.1. >CN

I took advantage of their Black Friday deal, one of their best ever. £20 per month for 20GB, unlimited minutes, so on...

That is a nice deal and I think if you're a loyal customer they do seem to have good deals but as a new customer I feel it's abit much. EE are the only carrier aside from three who do have great signal at my work

Hi, where did you get the file from please?

I downloaded it from apples servers

If you give me your email address I can send it too you. I tried uploading the file via iTunes and iTunes seems to have uploaded it to my phone but not change on my phone. I believe it's because the version is higher on my phone.

I'm now back on iOS 10.2.1 and I'm loving wifi calling.

I updated three software by going into settings>about .. it's now 27.1 and also enabled wifi calling in the phone settings but I am not seeing three wifi calling in top left like some people here .. also on three's website it still says ios embedded wifi calling will arrive soon ..

You need to have low signal before it goes onto wifi call.
Are you sure about this? I enabled it on Sunday and it was showing "Three WiFi Call" even with 3 or 4 dots. Today, it's just showing '3' as usual, even though WiFi calling is still enabled. I've toggled WiFi calling off/on and even rebooted but it's still not showing, even with one or two dots of coverage.

That's correct.

I had a tweet from three about this...

Thanks, I wonder why it was using it yesterday, though, on 3/4 dots. Maybe the iPhone was lying about the coverage...

Update: It appears that their tweet is correct. I forced my iPhone to lose it's connection to 3 by trying to switch it to Vodafone UK (which didn't work, obviously). During the few seconds it took to connect back to 3, "Three WiFi Call" showed in the status bar.

Shame it doesn't work. Thanks for the update though

Three UK have contacted me and indicated that non support of the Beta iOS is intentional and that they currently do not plan to support beta software in the future!
