Woo mine is def coming tomoz. An hour ago it arrived in Byfleet depot, which is literally 3 miles away from my house. Grr so tempted to cycle down there and attempt to pick it up.
I wonder if my up-to-date one will come as well

Thanks rlowery99

Thanks for the info. I will be sure to call Apple if my copy of Tiger arrives late.

Just go get it...hehe :D :D

I am in Ohio so I am also being served from the PA warehouse. I ordered Tiger on the 12th and as of 8:45 PM today my order still says "Preparing Shipment." I have serious doubts Tiger will be in my hands by tomorrow.

All of the PA area people - we need to group together and create a big stink with Apple if we don't get our shipment tomorrow.

It's affecting many people in NJ, NY, and New England as well. The official BS from Apple is still that it will arrive tomorrow.

Grrrrrrrr.
I should have waited to get it at the store in soho. Would have had a gift!

[EDIT]
Just called customer service. They are positive indeed that I'll receive Tiger tomorrow, despite the "Preparing Shipment" status. When I asked why I was still under that status, I was told "not to worry about that."
Hope remains.

late tiger?

You bet i am going to be complaining, If it does come late i am going to be pushing for some software. The guy i talked to at apple online store said that "apple went to great lenghts so everyone would receive their copy by the 29th, and they wanted to know if one of their partners failed to carry their end of the deal"

With that said being as one of the people effected by this possible shipping problem i am going to hold this guy to his word. The other day when i got my copy of ILife it was ordered at 1 am on the 26th and i received it on the 27th. It was shipped from PA also, but the difference is that it was shipped via UPS and tiger is coming via FEDEX.

I just got Tiger from NY Applestore

I just bought a new Powerbook from the NY Applestore and the Tiger installation DVD was in the box. Not sure if it was a mistake ... but it works very nicely! So sad you guys have to wait for tomorrow!

D

I was hoping to get an update from my friends being served from PA. Has anyone got word on their shipment yet? I just got an email from Apple who says my Tiger has shipped (at 3PM yesterday). The FedEx Website says it won't arrive until May 2. What gives? A terrible dissapointment.

I got a message this morning saying there was a delay and it is shipping today. So I guess I'll be cancelling my order and picking it up at the Apple store after work. This kinda pisses me of since I ordered it right after the Apple Store went back up on the 12th and they are just now telling me it will be late.

Well, it's now 13:35 (1:35 PM) local time here, and although Apple Order Status says my Tiger Family Pack has shipped, but gives no carrier reference. I have not received any e-mail confirmation, either... :(

TNT, in my experience, usually delivers around noon, so it doesn't look like I will get it this Friday, but have to wait until Monday...

From Apple:

Due to an unexpected delay, we are unable to ship the following
item(s) by the date that you were originally quoted:

M9639Z/A, OS X V10.4 "TIGER" RETAIL-INT
will now ship on or before 04/29/2005

What a load of B.S. I placed the order on at 5:53AM PST on 4/12/05. I'm pretty sure that is within an hour of the official announcement. First Apple screws up my Mac Mini pre-order, now Tiger. I must say, my faith in Apple's online store is pretty awful. Amazon.com can manage to get how many thousands of pre-orders of Harry Potter delivered on time (on a Saturday no less) and Apple can't handle getting their own products out the door on time.

I got the same message this morning. I called Apple to cancel but they said they couldn't. They are going to send me a return FedEx label and I'm going to pick it up tonight the Clarendon Apple Store.

What really makes me mad is that it has been preparing to ship for three or four days now. And I ordered it the morning of the 12th. It would have been nice if they told me earlier it might not ship on time so I could cancel the order and not have to bother returning a copy.

its on time now

It looks like apple was correct, looking at on the fedex tracker the package is on the truck for delivery (it should be hear within the next 3hrs), ahead of the may 2nd date that it said last night. How about those other people effected by the PA shipping problem, did your shipping change again back to May 29th delivery?

Rob

Why do I even bother with the Apple online store anymore?

Bah. Mine just departed the Memphis Fed Ex depot at 8:07am Friday morning, so there is no way it is making it to Chicago today. This, after my order was "preparing shipping" for 3 days, and after Apple promising me yesterday that any orders placed by the 26th would arrive by the 29th.

I'll be calling Apple to request a return Fed Ex label if it doesn't arrive today.

Its not that I NEED Tiger this weekend (as installing it would cut into my WoW time) but I'm just tired of the Apple Online Store's crappy customer service. They screwed up an iMac order a couple of years ago and a PowerMac order last year, but I thought that even these guys could handle a packaged software order.

Hoping I'll be eating some crow later this afternoon.

Tiger on the truck!

At 9:15 a.m., Fedex drop kicked my Tiger order onto one of their delivery trucks. I usually get Fedex service around noon; UPS arrives around 6 p.m.

Although it took a circuitous route; from Harrisburg, PA airport to Dulles International and finally back to Harrisburg, PA, and despite the "worst effort" by Fedex, it seems likely that I will recieve Tiger before the official launch.

Apple does it again. Snatching victory from the jaws of defeat.

Mine was stuck in that "Preparing Shipment" state until Thursday, AFTER FedEx arrived with my copy of Tiger. In fact, I received the e-mail from Apple saying that it had shipped with the newly installed Mail 2.0.

What's more, they didn't charge my credit card (even a hold) until after it had been delivered!

Lucky you. My package is sitting in Middletown, PA and FedEx claims it won't come until May 2nd. When I called up FedEx they said it was deliberately shipped to come May 2nd. There hasn't been a scan of the package since 11:30 PM last night.

Good job Apple.

My fathers shipped from Middletown Pa at 4:00 PM yesterday. We Live in North East Pa and Middletown is about an hour and a half away...however the tracking says "in transit" estimated Delivery is May 2nd (Shipped with 2 Day) and there is no update other than "Left Origin" at 6:30 last night...

Here's to hoping.

Fedex or Apple ?

I am curious to see how many Apple customers that were promised delivery on 4/29 and are being "stiffed", are taking delivery from Fedex.

Is it everyone?

Because if it is, then I believe the fault rests on Fedex and not on Apple if the information provided concerning billing/shipping is credible.

In my case Fedex was notified(according to Apple) @6:39 a.m on Wednesday 4/27, but didn't pick up the Tiger order until Thursday 4/28 @12:29 p.m., almost 30 hours later!

This is unacceptable in my opinion, but who dropped the ball?

Anyone here have a similar tale to relate?

To clarify my point I should tell you that I am about 100 miles from Harrisburg, PA (NORTH). Easily can be delivered the same day.

For me, FedEx usually overestimates the delivery day by one day, so it's still possible those people who have a scheduled delivery day for May 2nd will have it still delivered today.
