Makes me wonder where this is headed. If more people use these platforms, could their physical interactions become less genuine — as in acting like a camera is always on them and interacting accordingly? Will this replace long form, either in video/audio or blogs?

Oo...ohh. Ooooo! Sounds exciting.
I better go re-download that Facebook app I deleted 2 years ago.
Just kidding, I think not.😒

Why does macrumors keep posting news about Facebook when it’s clear by all these comments here that nobody cares about it? Ohhh right… because there are hundreds of comments in those articles nonetheless. All for the clicks.

I only started using a smartphone in 2016 and Instagram was already part of Facebook back then... Please explain how it was beneficial for Instagram to be purchased by Facebook... Serious question... I was not able to find a supporting information about this claim... I am finding many people hating Facebook or even just the mention of Facebook so I would really like to know your thoughts...
It was not beneficial for Instagram to be purchased by facebook. It was beneficial for facebook to acquire Instagram. The demographics of Instagram is much younger; and has less of a “I hate this service” vibe then Facebook does.

you finding info that people hate Facebook is exactly correct. Which is why people use Instagram; and why Facebook purchased it; and probably why they never rebranded Instagram from Instagram to Facebook Photos, or some garbage like that. It feels like your using a different product, yet your still using facebook.

Facebook and Instagram are trying too hard. Both of their UIs are shoddy each time they added more bloated features. I've already ditched both apps a while back even Twitter, the cesspool, too.
