That's nice, happy for them. I doubt it'll impact Apple in any meaningful way.

No doubt that and other potential collaborations were gamed-out by Apple in the early stages of AirTags development.

So why doesn't tile allow its trackers to be used on the findMy network? Is it a hardware thing? So what if users ditch the premium paid app from tile, shouldn't that be their choice? It sounds like tile is taking choice away from its customers instead of expanding it. They could always join Samsung trackers, everyone is always saying how Samsung sells so many phones. Oh wait, their trackers only work with Samsung phones, snap
Apple didn’t give Tile access to U1. Without U1, they are inferior to AirTags.
I’m assuming that Amazon will release their own tracker in the future, so this honeymoon may be short.
Amazon will buy Tile like they bought Ring.

First Tile avoids doing FindMy integration because Apple is a monopoly that stifles competition and does not play fair. Then teams up with Amazon for inferior functionality. Yup, that makes sense. Amazon has never acted as a monopolistic bully to stifle competition.

The U1 just gives the additional precision directional finding, it doesn't have anything to do with being FindMy network compatible, which Apple made available to all 3rd parties, should they choose to build it into their products.

Have they said they are not making future ones find my compatible? Seems like a no-brainer for any of these devices. I can see FindMy capability being built directly into car key fobs and tons of other products as well.

Most the function and features of chipolo won’t work like their other devices because it’s design into their app. Their chipolo one spot device will only work with find my app. There’s lots of features in chipolo and tile that’s not available in airtag/find my. The chipolo spot one will end up same price as airtags. People will pick airtags over chipolo just it’s apple any day of the week. There’s no advantage for picking chipolo.

So Tile who wants all their users to have always on uploading of their location data back to Tile is partnering up with Jeff (All Your Thought Are Belong to Us) Bezos. The match-up does make sense, but who in their right mind buys personal data siphoning products from Amazon?

Tile could also join the Find My network if they wanted, then it would have the greatest reach possible...

That makes sense — but why not make an offer before this partnership deal? Wouldn’t having this deal make Tile more valuable?

So there is an interesting thing about the tile that the airtags is and you can see this on your xfinity Comcast or whatever it is in your area there is the ability to check for tiles. If you want to see this for yourself and have Comcast go into your Comcast account and click on wifi, my network , advanced settings you will see the option to detect tiles.

Oh good, picked the worst home assistant device company to partner with.. Alexa blows and is easily beaten by the competition.. Guess amazon needed someone to partner with on this as they like to have their toes in every single thing. Now Amazon will also know when you go to the store and will send you ad's to buy something off Amazon instead trying to kill of local stores even more!

They're forced to choose Find My or Tile. Apple doesn't allow them to put their devices on Find My and have them on their own network. Apple notes this is to ensure the privacy aspect of it all...

It would have been nice for them to be more open with this so we could add all kinds of stuff to it like our third party headphones and etc, but that might come later we shall see.

Ring had promised to support Apple HomeKit years ago. I actually bought a Ring Pro Doorbell because of this. Now it seems they have dropped all plans for HomeKit support.
