The truth is the left's politics are driven by resentment--"those people have more money than us--not fair--get them!"

When the government takes your property by force, which is what excessive taxation and redistribution is, it's tyranny.

And the right's politics are driven by entitlement - "let's take advantage of workers and pay off lawmakers so as to enrich ourselves as much as possible and screw everyone else."

So taxation itself is not tyranny, just excessive taxation? And I guess you're the arbiter of what constitutes excessive.

Some taxation is necessary for roads, national defense, etc.

The government putting its hand in my pocket under force to give you entitlements is tyrrany.

I’m entitled to things because I f’ing earned them through hard work and seven years of schooling, while going through things you know nothing about.

I went through more schooling than you. I realize, however, that whatever I accomplished was not done in isolation without the direct and indirect help of many other people who contributed to the society in which I had the opportunity to accomplish what I did.

Your attitude is exactly what's wrong with this country. Some day through no fault of your own you may not be in such a good position and need society's help.

What's odd is that in states where you think this issue would do best... AZ, Texas, New Mexico... not so much. The AZ vote for Sinema really surprised me. I wasn't sure how a replacement for Flake would go... he's certainly probably not popular among Trump supporters. Despite his criticism of Trump - which I'm sure will lead his base to label him a RINO - he offers little to the other side of the aisle and is very conservative. (Though I do appreciate him taking on Trump).

I can explain this. The reason is those who live in the border states are used to seeing lots of immigrants from different countries and religions. They know that they pose no threat and are here to take low wage unskilled jobs that most Americans don't want to do. Those who live right next to the border with their property right where the wall would be built don't want Trump to use eminent domain to take their property at worst or divide it between America and Mexico at best.

This is exactly what happened to some Palestinian land when Israel put up their security wall. Many Palestinians whose property is right at the border lost access to half of their property and can only cross to it under certain conditions, hours and under supervision.
