Apple needs a new defining innovative product. I don't see a watch being it. My friend bought one for his wife and after two months it sits in a drawer. That's the only one I've seen in public. Guess aI don't hang with the fashion crowd.

Weird... my boss has one (he's a lawyer, not some model), a heap of university lecturers have them, random colleagues have them and lots of random people in public have them.

Can't say they are mega-popular... I think they just require a reasonable amount of disposable income, for something you'll only use for 1 or 2 years.

Also, has anybody else noticed they aren't all that styilish? I prefer my Pebble because it's cheap and I can use whatever band I want with it. To me the Apple watch looks weird with lots of 'standard' bands that woulda cost a lot of money. I like being able to stick any NATO band onto my Pebble.

One would have hoped the dirt would stay..

Ok, Apple watch is not really that personal (a bit), since since an iPhone can do more, yet you can't wear an iPhone.. (yet). on your wrist (or even watch to)

Maybe i don't get this whole "personal" thing yet......... how can u even call technology personal ? Its something u use to make life easier..... yet we sure didn't say "our typewriter was personal" in any way back when that was... And we defiantly never cried over it, when it got broke.

We all think in strange ways.

Sorry, Jony.

I don't want to wear technology if it's in the ugly form of the Apple Watch. You need to abandon that boondoggle if you wish to honour the legacy of Steve Jobs, or transform it so much that it becomes another product entirely. I suggest that only a hybrid watch would satisfy beauty. However, battery technology has stagnated for so many years now, that there is simply no point in pursuing such a futile endeavour.

What we all need from Apple now is very simple: a laser focus on improving their software and hardware, and an elimination of Nos from their lineup—the Apple Watch, 'Dr.' Dre, Eddy Cue, Tim Cook, Apple Music, the new MacBook and Apple TV. 'Dr.' Dre in particular needs to fired. Apple should not promote thuggery.

About to drop the Apple Mixtape this Fall yo

Although I think round (smart-)watches look far better than square ones, it's hard to make apps work well with a round screen.

I fail to under
Can you stop walking around a building site and hurry up and release ios 9.3.

I'm hoping that this is part of the reason why Cook and Co. may not be as focused on product as they would otherwise be -there is a lot on Cook's plate at the moment. Speaking of which, I tend to think of plates as round objects (as long as you don't need to throw them across a room I guess they can be square).

The argument for the construction of a circular HQ was built on theory that it would be more efficient (even though Jobs admitted to a dais bias). Still I don't buy the idea that apps simply cannot work within a circle, a form that time has a conceptual bias for. It's like saying a photograph only works in a square, when in fact every single photograph ever made (caveat: with a lens) was drawn within a circle.

Either way, the watch as is is imperfect -I highly doubt Jobs would have released it until it was. We'll find out in a few years if this building actually lends itself to creativity and productivity, as I hope it will, or if it's just a great place to sit and watch people pick fruit in the inner sanctum.

“Hard to know which is more beautiful, the building or that pile of dirt,” says Apple CEO Tim Cook with a wide smile

lol. And where were the citrus groves? I grew up in Cupertino and it was all apricots.

I look at the quality of OS X itself, not their sales. Sales don't mean quality.
I can understand your point. However, most vote with their money. If the product was as bad as you say, the logical conclusion would be lower sales. A matter of interpretation I guess.

A matter of 'interruption'? Do you mean 'interpretation'?

On another note, more and more as I hear Ive blather on with these vacuous ruminations about fashion and design, I'm really just starting to look at him as someone too caught up in his own hype, and too powerful to be questioned by his co-workers ... to realize what a pompous ****** he has become.

Apple Watch 2.. maybe round? Could you get this done Jony?!

Also, any clue when the 2nd gen will be sold?
With my withings not working, each passing day am thinking of getting one.

Please no round shapes :(
Either the screen would have to be bigger to fit the same content. Or it would have to fit even less content than today.

I don't like how Apple is taking Steve's legacy and shooting it in the face, but I guess that was Steve's last mistake: "Don't stop to consider what I would do."

Actually I think he said the opposite, but I can be wrong.

Fixed it thanks, damn auto correct and bad proof reader.

Jony Ive: "Jony...the campus 2 is almost complete."
Tim Cook: "Good. Fear will keep the local cities in line."
Jony: "So...what's the purpose of having this over-sized, halo-looking, campus?"
Tim: "It's a teleporter. It will teleport us out of here....to the oblivion."
Stupid talking here...
Just watch
again and speak with more decency about a vision of a man who passed away too early ...

or they could spend some of that massive cash pile on R&D for circular screens. I have zero intention of buying a Watch until they make a round version. With as much customization they've put into it, they have to know some people simply prefer a round watch face. i say its inevitable.
