So basically he's changed virtually nothing and made more money? Sounds like ripping people off to me. But Tim Cook already had a platform to build off of. It's not like he started a new company and did better than Steve Jobs ever could.

Apple need to bring out larger screen iPhones with leading tech inside them. If they don't you can laugh at Android all you want but it will be the final nail in iPhones coffin.

When did I laugh at Android? And I said selling more product than ever before. Obviously that's going to generate more revenues and profits. If Cook is ripping people off then certainly Jobs was too.

Fair point.

I am Europe and I find this offensive

lol at his explanation on what the name Europe stands for

To you, Europe, America apologizes...

Dear American friends: if you need any clarification about the concept of continents, countries, federal states and their relationships with each other, feel free to ask. :)

Yep, Germany is definitely the expert... ;)

1st: Everyone for themselves "I worked my ass off all my life and I do not understand why I am supposed to support other people" (usually heard by people from the east coast around Vermont with 3 kitchens they dont use, a picture of former presidents and two guns hanging above a fire place)

2nd & 3rd: I dont care, I got nothing to hide

4th: We need more guns!!! Arm teachers and Cashiers at the movie theater

:p

*disclaimer: this post is not supposed to offend anyone personally

LOL. This, definitely....but you forgot the 3 Mega-SUV's in the driveway...

all fun... no harm.... just waiting to see how long before this thread is moved to PRSI

The most uneducated and idiotic comment you've heard in years, really??? That's amazing coming from a guy who lives in Croatia.

You don't like Croatia? I am devastated... Have you heard any idiotic comments coming from Croatia this week? There have been some, but nothing compared to the ones coming from the US... From the US we only get pearls of wisdom...

actually, you are right: he/they probably doesn't even know what EU means. :D

No, I think he does and understands Cook just knowlingly used the common colloquialism "Europe" for the EU

What about this one?

When I was studying in the USA, someone asked me if we had the moon in my country.

I have many of them!

P.S. I also met many intelligent people while in the USA

Personally I don't think this is a big deal. Sure, he could have chosen his words better, but I highly doubt he was intentionally trying to piss off an entire continent.

Then Belgium must be Touchwiz. So much bloatware and unnecessary gimmicks, it becomes barely workable.

I can see his analogy.

Sold more products, generated more revenues and profits than Apple ever had in its history. I guess Steve Jobs had no clue what he was doing when he recommended Cook replace him as CEO.

Apple sold all those extra products for naught. At the end of the day, what did they have to show for it all, declining margins and flat profits - NOT a blueprint to go forward on.

I wonder if that red chair Cook has been sitting in was designed by Jony, Jony likes red.

People on the internet are there mainly to find something to be irrationally angry about. All he said was Android is a grouping of basically unique products (countries) united by an overall OS name (like "Europe") versus Apple and Windows which are totally independent. Just a rather clumsy analogy to comment about Android fragmentation. Nothing more, nothing less.

I didn't know a Kindle was an Android device so Cook's right.

Damn, Tim. It reminds me of a quote I heard was attributed to Abe Lincoln:

"It is better for a man to be thought of as a fool than for him to open his mouth and remove all doubt".

Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Finland, and Sweden have more in common than Oklahoma, Maryland, Georgia, Oregon, New Hampshire in terms of cultural mindset and ideology.

I think it's more about loose-lips - hey he's an engineer turned bean counter.

Well he is only the second American this week to stick their foot in their mouth with regards to Europe. I also find it Hilarious that America is complaining about the Russians putting the private phone conversion of the American Diplomat on Utube. I suspect they probably Hacked the NSA to get the information.
