Revamped iOS/OS X to Be Unveiled at WWDC...

Oh, no! Really?! Such a flash news... iOS/OS X to Be Unveiled at WWDC...

I want to see OS X without depressing greyness all over Finder... and have it change the name to the more descriptive "Mac OS".

woohooo! good job apple!
can't wait for iOS7. finally, we will be seeing the new, refreshed look.
i hope iOS7 doesn't disappoints any of us!

This is what Cook said about iOS:

http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/28/apple-ceo-tim-cook-interview-at-d11-liveblog/

DARREN MURPH 8:46 PM
Swisher's asking about the new iOS, and Cook's only saying that "surprises are fun." Ha!

DARREN MURPH 8:46 PM
Swisher: "Is it a dramatic update for iOS?"

DARREN MURPH 8:47 PM
Cook: "I'll let you be the judge of that, and yes, Jony Ive has been really key [to this version.]

I admit, I criticize Apple a lot. In my opinion they have been under-delivering the last few years. Big time.

But I will say, for the first time in a while, I am excited for an Apple unveiling. Just the fact that Forstall is gone and someone who cares about aesthetics and innovation is given free reign. It should be interesting to see the result. I hope...

:)

Revamp OSX go go go! would love to see a new UI platform that doesn't have delay and feels like dragging a snail around. But that might be too much to ask for.... regardless, looking forward to see the reveals!

Very exciting month! iOS/OSX June 10th WWDC & June 26th Windows Blue release (preview)..

The time is coming for Apple to reveal.
I am looking forward to it.

I am in line for a new iPad, a new iMac and maybe a new phone.

So, I like what I am hearing about the remainder of this year.

I have always been one the skeumorphic haters, so cannot wait to see what's released.

Could we please run a different picture of Ives other than the ones where he's sitting in front of that blank background from the iPhone commercials? They are SO bland! :(

I personally like and use both Launchpad and Mission Control but they are by no means perfect yet and I still think there is plenty of room for improvement.

I don't care as long as I'm not forced to use it. But Tim Cooke's quote SOUNDS good, but in reality, I'm not expecting everything to be great.

pardon?

What do you suppose Tim meant by 'Post PC era'? My understanding is the Windows still dominates the computer market, so it presumably isn't a software related comment?

I wonder if this is a hint into Apple's future vision - phasing out of desktops (except the iMac, which is effectively a desk-bound laptop anyway)

That said, we waited a very long time for the PowerBook G5 too... :)

.... Mac pro mac pro mac pro!!!

Walt and Kara are not proconsumers, they do not care about Mac Pros, shouldn't expect them to bring it up in the first place.

I know this is a long shot, but I hope that we see OSX 10.9 released at the end of July like 10.8.

With no first beta out and rumors that OS X team has been temporarily reduced to help out the IOS team, low chances of seeing the official release in the summer.

Not to mention, Tim did say the next time we should expect any type of releases would be in Fall, that would be the reasonable time to expect both iOS and OS X releases.

You should lower your expectations, because if they do deliver it, you'd be more surprised. So, set it low and let them surprise you rather than setting it too high and be disappointed even if it was a good reveal.

It doesn't mean anything. This is a famous phrase that Jobs started many years ago when they released iPads. They're talking about how the world is changing to use multiple computing forms: smartphones, tablets, laptops, TVs and so on. Thus "Post-PC era" means it's not just computers anymore like back in 90s and early 2000s.

Microsoft dominates the business/customers PC markets, but they do not dominate any of the TVs, smartphones, tablets and so on. At the moment, it's Android dominating the smartphones while Apple still dominates the tablet market.

Nothing against Ives, but if he delivered the keynote, it probably would take 3 hours long at the pace he speaks.

Ha, my thoughts exactly. But at least you'll know how much purpose and conviction there was in every. single. word. he says.

Personally I can't wait not to see Forstall and his smarmy little grin.

I enjoy it when Tim Cook gives interviews. They're always insightful and interesting. Knowing the people on this site, however, I'm probably in the minority. :/

You're not alone. I think those of us who have a genuine interest and don't have the attention span of a little puppy, find Tim Cooks interviews insightful to say the least. It seems to be the immature ones with very short attention spans who hate on Tim Cook or find him boring. He's not a charismatic showman like Steve was, but that doesn't make his insight any less interesting to those of us who actually appreciate it.

Windows 8

Microsoft said the same thing about Windows 8 and look what a fiasco that is! I'll believe the new iOS is good when I see it's good.
