Right, nobody wants to have their music library relegated to a 3rd party app like a 2nd class citizen and lose out on all the integrations that come with having your files a part of the device’s native music library. Apple will let you import AAC, ALAC, MP3, WAV, maybe even WMA?? Which is relevant on what planet? But FLAC is always excluded and nobody seems to have any excuse or explanation.
I realize this has become a niche issue that less and less people will care about nowadays that streaming is the primary means of listening for so many people, but this is something that should have been resolved long before that transition happened. They’ve neglected the local-music user experience for those who care, for far too long.

I was laughing too. Many islands have no labels and the street names don't move properly when you zoom in to list two problems I keep running into. The street name ends up between two roads, so which one is it?

The hearing aid functionality is amazing. Plus going thru the hearing test to tailor the APP to my specific hearing deficits.
Apple will be losing a lot of people using Maps by putting Ads in the app, I’m not buying the privacy thing anymore honestly once they added ads in the App Store ,Apple Maps and Google Gemini is part of Apple now it seems

I bought an iPhone 16, and not because of Apple Intelligence. I don’t make purchase decisions based on the ‘future’ software a company has advertised.
I buy based on what I DO, and possible future needs. As I am not a pro, I don’t need professional anything.
Replacing an iPhone 13 Pro, a 2nd gen iPhone E and a flip phone for me and my family, with the thought does the 16 and 16e meet our current and potential needs. Yes, especially seeing as the hardware was designed for AI junk we never got nor wanted. Yay!!!
We’ll easily get 3-4 years of great service from our 16s and 16e.
Shame on all those people who bought a phone based on ‘future’ software.
Also, didn’t Tesla sell people on a self driving car package, that never came about and/or they went back and charged even more for it? Pretty sure that package was a minimum 3 grand. 3-4x the cost of an iPhone 16.

Nope just not using Apple inferior product with outdated information, Google Maps doesn’t let me down, nor take me into a lake with directions. I only see the older crowd use it, a lot more people use Google Maps

I use Apple Maps all the time and love it. I'm not excited about upcoming ads, but if they're not distracting I'll try to look around them.

I have used Apple Maps for years. Including multiple day trips and even longer trips to visit family in Texas.
In all my years, any issue I have had with it have either been human error related or funky road construction that stuck me under a multi-layer exchange that made poor Siri go nuts.
I can’t think of a single issue in the like 10+ years of use, but I am also in a very rural area so things aren’t as hectic as more populated areas.
Edit: the great thing about Apps, there are so many and you can generally use which ever one you want
I’d love to be “down” to the tune of a couple billion dollars in net worth 🤣
But seriously, the guy shepherded Apple through a truly wild period of growth to become the 7th largest corporation on Earth, and people here seem to think they could do better. It’s pretty hilarious to read, honestly.

I'm trying desperately to use Apple Maps. For directions from point A to B, it's ok - on par with Google Maps. But... the big point is that there are so many information missing about places, stores, etc... I don't know what they are doing, but outside navigation, it's not reliable. I'm regularly sending correction reports, and they do correct. But I should rely on Apple Maps, not the other way. As far as software, the move to creator studio is a big mistake - most serious users already have final cut, logic, motion, compressor. The Siri renewal is a big flop. The M series is a big win. The liquid glass (that nobody wants) is a big mistake. The Apple TV price tag is a big mistake since their catalog is about 10% of anybody else. They bought Motion VFX? Fine. But Apple shouldn't keep it for creator studio subscribers. That's a big mistake. You don't create two levels of users. Mail is getting more and more unreliable. I'm thinking of moving back to gmail as my main mail service. Hardware is fantastic. It's on the software side that the Cook era failed a lot. Not everywhere, but a lot. Logic pro and Final Cut barely moved up to the level of competitors within Cook era. They're behind. And that shouldn't.
Are you serious? I have no reason to congratulate the man for his many mistakes...even if he does now own up to some of them. That is not worthy of anyone's sympathy. He's a billionaire...not a poor sap who is in the gutter.
Largely the same experience. I’ve found it on the whole super reliable, and I love the UI. I’ve hit on glitches, for sure, but only rarely for routing and navigation -- more often just missing or outdated information about actual locations of businesses and other points of interest.
Unfortunately I still have to fall back on Google Maps or something to get accurate place info, but then I go back to Apple Maps to actually navigate there.
I have not read one single comment here to suggest anyone thinks they could personally do better. This Tim Cook pity party is pathetic.
