Easy. Apple hater. Since neither statement of success or failure is based on real sales statistics, the statements are not valid. Your statement is as baseless as someone who claims failure.

If “success” is measured by “profits” then “YES” Tim is successful if that is THE ONLY GOAL, which looks like Apple’s business model now a days. That will not be disputed.

Not just profits, which by the way, are inline with industry norms, and less than Samsung's.

How about the tens/hundreds of millions of repeat customers who open their wallet to purchase a premium priced Apple product, year after year after year?

Would that qualify as being successful?

You're right. I have bought 2 items from Apple the last 3 years. They are definitely successful.

Apple does have a successful formula. Makes me sad I got rid of my Apple stock too early. But oh well.

Bottom line. Great job Tim. Keep it up. You are exactly what apple needs at this point in time.

Apparently you didn't trust Tim enough to keep your stock. :D

We will never know if Tim really just rode the iphone wave that Jobs already made if you measure success just by iphone sales alone as it looks like ‘success’ is now measured by..

Might just be timing or whomever took the helm after Jobs...If you minus iphone sales or any of the products that were already in designed when Tim came along, then we could take a look, but we will never know..

Well, he did ride the coat tails of the world’s greatest tech pioneer and the company was already ahead of every competitor. It would have been very difficult for him to drive it into the ground.

Bottom line: he’s got the charisma of a piece of wood. He doesn’t have the enthusiasm or character that Jobs had. Heck, I think Craig Federighi should replace him. He’s funny, great on stage, shows huge passion toward everything he unveils and is generally well-liked by everyone. I imagine he’s a good decision maker too.

More importantly, I think Craig understands "tech. Whereas, Tim is just a glorified "bean counter".

Yes, I do recognize that Apple is a business. But I do remember when it was more than just a "business" entity.
