Tim does not want anything that could slow down app sales even if it means not protecting children. He could sell his mother and still spend time justifying why.

The movie title should probably read like this:Tim Cook Goes to Washington to Fight App Store Age Verification Legislation
Sounds like a really underwhelming movie from the 50’s
So the response to a legitmate issue with children accessing adult contnet is to grab the conspiracy bag, give it a good shake and see what falls out. This is a distraction tactic and a camel's nose under the tent. It's about government control of everyone's internet access. "Protecting the kids" is the pretense. It's curious that initiatives like this are happening all across the globe at the same time. Papers, please.
Most clients these days take a picture or scan of their ID and just send it to their financial institution via e-mail or some secure app. The ID's image is then stored electronically in the database, if only as proof that the institution verified the client's identity in case of an audit. And an increasing number of institutions - brokerages in particular - are online only, with no brick-and-mortar branch you can physically visit.Because I physically give the bank my ID. Not have it stored in a database and have it exposed after a data breach weeks or months or years later.
Basically, yes. The are a few "buts" however.didn't apple solve the ID problem with driver's license in apple wallet?
The fact that Tim Cook paid that mafia boss Donald Trump a bribe three times (the inaugural celebration bribe, the glass plaque with tacky solid gold base bribe, and the gaudy ballroom bribe) shows how morally bankrupt Cook is.Wonder what "gifts" will he be giving to said King and Dictator of the USA?
Judging from some of the posts here and Tim Cook’s actions and comparing the verbiage in the posts to Tim Cook’s actions I have to wonder if the pot is calling the kettle black here. The fact that Tim Cook paid that mafia boss Donald Trump a bribe three times (the inaugural celebration bribe, the glass plaque with tacky solid gold base bribe, and the gaudy ballroom bribe) shows how morally bankrupt Cook is.
Nobody knows that for a fact. But good for Tim this seems like a fine example of more government overreach.Speaking of age verification, Trump probably didn’t care about age verification before having sex with sex-trafficked underaged prostitutes that were supplied to him by Jeffrey Epstein.

Couldn’t you… Step 1: create an account when outside of Texas, and then Step 2: “just do step 1” and that’s it?Texas recently passed a similar bill, SB2420. Starting on January 1, 2026, Apple users located in Texas will need to confirm whether they are 18 years or older when creating an Apple Account. Apple will need to verify age and parental identity, and the App Store will need to provide additional information to parents.
This part is making it sound like if the legislation were to pass, they would have to share every single sensitive information with an app developer, which shouldn’t be the case…allows a parent to share their child’s age range with an app developer, without having to share sensitive, specific information like a birthdate or government ID
