The only thing was how much Billy Joel has changed. The loss of hair and the weight gain through me off for a second.

Billy Joel has looked old and fat for well over 10 years now. Not a new thing. I saw him live in 2006 and he was just as fat and bald then. And he was like that for years previous too. He started going bald/fat in the River Dreams era around 93/94. Slow process but it happened.

It was gracious of Tim Cook to specifically mention Loopy, as its creator (Michael Tyson) has been one of the most important people advancing audio on the iOS platform (he's also the creator of Audiobus, which lets music apps communicate with each other).

This was definitely a cool little skit but no way was this "magical". Apple Seriously needs to stop using that word for each and every thing. There was nothing "magical" about this at all.

Not a Billy Joel fan, huh? Or is is that you WERE a Leno fan and are still bitter? Either way, cheer up. I'm sure rainbows and unicorns are right around the corner for ya, bud.

OMG, where have I been??? The last concert I saw him at was probably in the 80's and really have not seen him since then. I still buy his music but I guess I had not paid attention to him in over 20 years (I know its 30 years since the 80's but that would make me too old so I am not going there). Two lessons -- pay closer attention to the tiny cover photos in iTunes, and both Billy and I are old farts.:p

Nope, I like Billy Joel and Jimmy Fallon. This whole skit was a farce anyways as there were very expensive products behind the scenes to make this work. You'll need way more than the app just recreate what they did.

Like I said. This whole thing was very cool and I enjoyed it. It's just not magical and cost way more than just the app to make all this happen.

Are you a magician?

You make me reminisce about my childhood when my older cousin would tell my younger cousin that there was no Santa Clause or that he could see the strings in the puppet show, etc.

I had no idea what he even looked like now. I recently bought the Piano Man music video on iTunes and that was how I always saw him as.

This video clip from last nights show was fun to see.

Apple has this while Samsung has to pay for celebrities to use their products rather unwillingly…

Who then use their Apple products when they think no one is looking

----------

Maybe, maybe not. Musicians don't have any trouble improvising and getting it right on their first try. They do it all the time.

Just watch a few episodes of "Who's Line Is It Anyway". People with real Improv talent can be amazing.

The Apple vs Samsung debate is getting tiresome. Why bring it up in every ****ing thread? Can't we enjoy this awesome clip without nerd fights?

Nah. As long as Samsung continues to play the same ****ing tiresome "nerd fights" in their ad campaigns, it's all fair game.

Samsung wishes it could be on Fallon.

Huh? I agree, the whole "magical" thing irritates, but what you were hearing was less the result of expensive microphones/processing (which are a necessity for TV, in any case) and more the result of two pretty good singers having a good time.

Don't try this at home...
Great show, but the real deal wasn't the iPad there... Two pro mics?

Yeah, I was wondering that too. How was he able to connect two wireless pro mics to the iPad and get it to output to the studio speakers? There must be extra hardware involved. If I bought the app, I'd be worried I couldn't do this.

Cook not must think "magical" is much more than run of the mill IMO.

These buzz words are getting old.
