i would really love to work for Apple and this might just be a way for me to fast-track my job application....only if the bid doesn't go above $50k. I don't think i can spend/leverage/borrow more than $50k and have a reasonable ROI within 5 years even if I do get a job....but just saying I totally would pay up to $50k to talk to him and sell myself. (If I were richer I would def pay more.)

2.5 million for lunch with Warren Buffet?!? Some people sure have more cash then they need.

Some charities benefit greatly by association. Because without this type of publicity - you and I might not even know the charity exists. I think there's a balance, of course.

This is true, some personalities have brought a positive light onto worthwhile charities and have done so in a selfless manner. I do not believe this is the norm though. Often it seems to be the opposite with celebrities promoting questionable charities to keep themselves in the spot light.

Well, he could could keep going on like this for a long time, exploiting the legacy and well-deserved fame of Steve Jobs.

I think Jobs' wife Laurene has gone along the same path with her immigration politicking.

Sad, really.

Apple's gotten bloated. In the lull between innovative product releases, Cook should concentrate on firing some employees and trimming the fat like Jobs did when he took over. Should also help to bone up on his ******* bone, which he clearly needs to improve upon.

Laurene is a great powerful woman, with or without SJ

"The RFK Center has issued a press release announcing the group of roughly 100 celebrity auctions, specifically drawing attention to the coffee meeting with Cook."

Celebrities meeting him ? It's like trashing this meeting already.

holy **** its already at 31k. Definitely will pass 50k, probably into a few hundred thousand

I would

TOTALLY would drop the cash if I had the deep pockets for this....how awesome would that be? How lucky would it be if the person did indeed get to see some sneak peak at a future product?

I would probably have to sneeze and say "Apple Maps"... hah
