Bring your Nexus 4 with you!

Wouldn't it be awsome if right in the middle of conversation the winner takes out their Nexus 4 or Galaxy S4 to check their email? :D

I'm going to assume this is Fair Trade coffee :D

And they say something like, "Why don't you make a 6 inch screen?"

About the same as John Lennon.

Don't know where he is buried, but you can probably have half an hour talking to Steve Jobs for free (from a small distance). You won't get any answers though. BYOC (bring your own coffee).

other then both being dead there is no comparison. Lennon will shine for much longer than Steve

Well, he could could keep going on like this for a long time, exploiting the legacy and well-deserved fame of Steve Jobs.

I think Jobs' wife Laurene has gone along the same path with her immigration politicking.

Sad, really.

Apple's gotten bloated. In the lull between innovative product releases, Cook should concentrate on firing some employees and trimming the fat like Jobs did when he took over. Should also help to bone up on his ******* bone, which he clearly needs to improve upon.

This is for charity. The object is to get as much money as possible to donate to the charity. Has nothing to do with his ego. More to do with getting as much as you can for the charity.

Wait...wait...

Where did this post come from!!

Someone who actually got the point of the endeavor!!

OK...I'm really scared now...

 :D

If it were with Steve Jobs, I would have dropped $10K.

For Tim Cook? Maybe $100. That's about what a lecture from a good speaker costs.

For Jonny Ive as the person below me suggested, I would consider something around $2K.

I was very, very lucky...I got to meet both Jobs and Jony Ive after Steve gave the keynote address at Macworld 2000...got to have about a minute and a half with each of them...it was tons of fun!

Well yeah charity is part of it but let's not deny that ego plays a part here with all parties involved. Lets face it if you really want to support charity you can do so without a public discourse. While charity is served this is also a publicity stunt.

Interesting! But who's likely to win the auction? I think a journalist backed by a whole company, to whom $50 000 is worth an article that starts with "About that day I had coffee with Tim Cook", or just some rich guy.

What an easy way to raise money for charity - someone with deep pockets who wouldn't otherwise get to hang with Tim gets to chill for a coffee and chat, and some charity makes bank. How can people find something wrong with this?

It is a form of personal promotion. Sure a charity will benefit but that same charity could be financed privately. I'm really of the opinion that all charitable contributions should be private. When you tie up the promotion of people with the needs of a charity I have problems.

Some charities benefit greatly by association. Because without this type of publicity - you and I might not even know the charity exists. I think there's a balance, of course.

If I had $50K floating around I would probably donate for this cause but would pass on the coffee with Tim Cook. He is the most boring person I ever seen. In my opinion he is the biggest mistake Apple ever made and the company is suffering for having him at the top.

So, they believe that having coffee with Tim Cook is worth $50,000? That's ludicrous, imo. If I had that much to give to charity, that would mean that my net worth would be a whole lot more, and I wouldn't care less about having coffee with Tim Cook if that were the case.

Quit with the coffees and get that MacPro out already. :D
Only $50K to ask him where it is.

Well, the resurrected iSteve isn't ready yet.
