I am content with the watch. Sure it's not a "must have" gadget but it gets the basic things done. I am sure like all other products, future versions of this will be 10x better. As for apple music, the family pack is awesome! Plus music selection is all there so no problems there. And the TV, well looks like I need to run down to the store...again.

For all of you guys that have 4K TVs... good for you. I don't recall anything mainstream that's 4K, except for some YouTube videos.
If you want 4K content, you will have to wait until Playstation 5 or Xbox Two or something in 2017.
By then, Apple TV will support 4K.
But for now, for the majority of people, 1080p is already enough.

For everything it gives you today ?

Putting 4K in just to tick a checkbox would have sacrificed gaming performance.
WHAT?;))) GAMING PERFORMANCE?;))) Are we really talking about aTV and gaming?;)) what games u expect for aTV? Have u seen that stupid aTV introductiin and childich frogger like demo? Thats gaming on aTV aka noone cares...

These interviews are incredibly boring. I knew before it started what questions would be asked and I had a pretty good idea what answers Cook would give. I guess the only surprise was no question about falling iPad sales. But other than that it was entirely predictable.

So Photos doesn't exist? I thought it was better than iPhoto.
You seem to browse very often through news regarding Apple, official statements or news, quoting sources and asking for sources. You should already know the uncomfortable questions are not welcome. Do you think you'll ever see in your life a Tim Cook interview with no pre-discussed questions?

Can't wait to see iFixIt's tear down when the new :apple:TV hits the wild at the end of next week!! :D

Am I the only one who thought at first that the guy on the left was Steve Ballmer?

cook_baker_wsjdlive_2015.jpg

"Tim Cook looks on in disbelief as Steve Ballmer continues chanting "Developers, developers..." for another 15 minutes."

Tim is completely drowning the golden goose! Yes he expand to China and increase Apple sales with an already existing killer product line, but that golden product line is now silver.

In an interview Elon said most of his time is consumed with engineering challenges.. Overcoming what no one else is able to do. Jobs pushed people till he had the perfect product.. What does Tim do?

Tim just dances and enjoys the good like. Just like Ballmer.

The Iphone 6S is pretty good. I like 3D touch but I know others aren't too impressed yet, which I respect. I still find google now kills Siri, and Maps is meh at best.

I am eager for Apple TV though, after 4 years they needed to release something as the competition had caught up.

The watch.. I'll wait for version two.. I think next time they will get it right. Hopefully they get the price right too.
Project Titan will prove you wrong. And really? Since when does CEO come up with ideas for tech products? Jobs was something else. No can be compared to him.

Apple Watch is the first Apple device I own that i literally HATE.

Doing anything is taking forever and then the battery randomly dies within a half day since Watch OS 2.0 (tried re-pairing) and you have no idea why.
By the time the stupid thing shows me the weekly weather forecast i have gone down stairs, picked up my iPhone and checked it on there itself. Dont even bother trying to use any apps on it anymore, its simply a watch for me now with a sports tracker that also seems fairly unreliable. Like i hit my exercise goal for sitting .... on the desk ... at work almost every day

Steve Jobs would have thrown that watch in Ives face for how slow it is telling him to go back to the drawing board

I'm happy with my Apple Watch, but it's not a 'wow' product. I understand where people are coming from with their criticisms, but don't forget, this is only v1. Neither the iphone, ipod, ipad nor MBA were 'wow' products in v1.

As I recall Apple didn't give sales numbers for the first ipad either. It was only when it got to ipad 2 or 3 that they gave comparative sales figures. It seems to me that the 'exceeded our expectations' answers are standard Apple answers for each of their new products at this stage.

Guys, I really think (hope) that ATV4 is gonna be the best selling device ! I have ATV1 and ATV3, and I'm gonna buy the hell out of this one , too! It's gonna be the cheapest IOS device on the market, gaming device, media device, a great introductory device for Apple ecosystem & great addon for those who already own & love their iPhones .. I really think it's gonna blow sky high!

He should admit the Apple watch is one of those products that isn't for everyone, just like the Mac book he released! And that the Surface was good inspiration for him...

Personally I think he is Apple's version of Steve Ballmer. Slowly sinking the ship

Every company in the world wishes to be this kinda of sinking ship.

This forum has basically derailed into "I don't have a 4K TV so neither should you."

It's nothing new, at the time the iPhone was first released a lot of forum members argued it didn't need 3G as Edge was good enough.

What they really meant was 3G wasn't available where they lived so why should anyone else have it.

Things are not looking that great in the Apple camp. Im considering dumping my shares before the numbers for this quarter are released, I believe for many it will be a reality check. Without going into a lengthy narrative of what I do for a living, some of you already may know, I think it's quite demonstrable that the Apple Watch is selling below expectation and I will be so bold as to say "way" below expectation. The iPad sales have been diminishing quarterly and this will be no different. The iPad pro will not save the iPad from even weaker sales than the previous quarter. The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus are pound for pound underselling last years iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, and this presents a huge problem for Apple as it is Apples' mainstay, it's cash cow. From what I have seen it appears sales are off at least 10% if not more from last year. USA markets are becoming oversaturated with Apple products and sales in general are in a downturn. International and emerging markets will only provide a temporary softening of the blow. In relative terms Apple is fine, but fortunes change very quickly in a tide of uncertainty. Innovation can emerge from the depths of space, from sheer nothingness then once again everything changes.

Yes shiny remote that can't beam you 4K content. Maybe Apple will make a 4K Apple TV in 2017 and you'll buy that one too.

But guess what, my 2013 XBox One is 4K ready...
How much 4K content do you have? Must be a bunch of it is that important to you.

Why did they put 4K recording in the 6S or why the heck do we have a 4k and 5k iMac if the Apple TV isn't 4K enabled.

This is just ridiculous. They sell the 6s with 4K recording but if you really want to enjoy it on your 4K tv you need to connect a Mac directly to your TV because the brand new Apple TV doesn't have 4K support.
And they put A8 while the more powerful A9 is already shipping with the new iPhones.

I'm going to buy the new Apple TV since I want to start developing an app on it in my spare time, but as usual Apple is saving some features for a future release and I'm quite disappointed about that

What about aperture ?

Photos is an improvement on iPhoto , and a step backwards to aperture.

I'd argue the user is the looser, as they are told to use photos, removing choice.

The guy at the shop where you bought your xbone was selling you bananas. it can't do 4k, it doesn't even do 1080p. The maximum it can do, and that's not native is 900p, which in theory, nobody uses or needs

And the Apple Watch is still useless.

Useless for you my friend. For me it's:

- The best device I've ever used for tracking my morning runs.
- The best device I've ever used for directions whilst cycling and walking.
- The best device I've ever used for geofence reminders.
- The best MP3 player I've ever used in the gym, whilst jogging and whilst cycling.
- It's an excellent watch, and the customisable complications means it is the most useful watch face I've ever owned.

Etc, etc.

I could say something stupid like the Mac Pro is useless as I have no use for it, but I'm smarter than that, all about personal use cases.

I chose to continue using Aperture, still works just as well as it did pre-Photos app launch.

I also use Photos app for my partners photos, she prefers the simplicity of it to iPhoto and likes the fact it mimics the iPhone UI. It's easier for her to manage everything.

Good job we have choice. And with Photos extensions, I'm hoping eventually I will be able to ditch Aperture and move into Photos too.

I like our watches but watch os2 didn't improve things like I expected, and our sat is dropping rapidly.

And that's one of Apple's challenges - customers who like products less than they did 6 months ago because they are just the same as they were 6 months ago.
