Exactly. What is great is being able to look at trends over time. Having more sensors that generate more actionable data is good.

Congrats to you. My goals of losing weight and getting back into shape were the reasons I bought my first smart watch (the Basis Band from Basis Science, bought by Intel for $100 million and then killed). I am down almost 100 pounds over the last few years. Still about 15 pounds over my weight in high school when I played soccer almost every day. Still working on it.

See the trends was a big help to me as well. Not everyone has the same needs or motivators. I love the challenges I receive from my Apple Watch and I love being able to see that I hit my fitness goals every day.

If this data does not help you, do not bother to collect it, but stop complaining that others want it.
It helped me stay motivated to lose weight as well :) it was good to tell myself to get at least 600 active calories a day. (Along with eating less of course)

Has a love for nature yet is one of the biggest parts in making this world a technological cesspit. He’s deluded. At this rate, in 25yrs we will all be mixing with AI and slaves to the system. If he loves nature so much then leave Apple and encourage going back to the pre internet age. Ever since the internet has taken over, quality of life has gone down.

It's not fair to blame the internet for the fault of ultra liberalism.

This is pretty embarrassing. Yes, going outside is a "window to the world", just like coming inside is "a window to yourself". I'm assuming he had some medicine before he made that point if you get my drift.

People always ask me what I was doing to lose weight, and my answer is always the same: ”Eat less, move more.” I do 750 active calories as a minimum (usually end up around 1,000 or so), walk or jog about 6 miles and do 30 minutes of dedicated cardio and yoga a day. ”Closing my Rings” and other things like that (Streaks Workout and Daily Yoga) are big motivators for me.

All these sensors but can’t add 4 day battery life? Apple has been on 18 hr battery life since series 0/1
And what has happened to the overall SoC capability since series 0/1? Ask for a watch that "slow" with the current manufacturing process/efficiency improvements and you'll get your 4 days of battery life.
I'll take the current amount + new features.

Haven’t read the article but I’m guessing he threw in the word ‘laser-focused’ and ‘pipeline’ a few times?

Is your body vs your car even a topic for discussion? "and arguably, your body is much more important than your car." Arguably. Really.

The more I listen to cook the more I feel he’s a bit out of touch.

so that's good that more technology for AW is coming, but, please, please make it/keep it AFFORDABLE for the average consumer (hint: AirPods Max NOT)

What for? An insulin sensor would make more sense, if your insulin resistance tends to be high.
Glucose sensor might be good not only for people with diabetes.... it can provide information about how glucose is absorbed after each meal. In a non diabetic this could help to lose weigh, see the surge in glucose after having junk food, etc. some people might benefit from this feedback

It's not clear the wrist will ever be a realistic placement for medical grade sensors, but I do applaud the sensors Apple does have and look forward to the future. My guess is at some point sensors will be implanted (not by Apple) and information relayed to a local device (watch, glasses, whatever).
Why not? Apple has Apple Stores all over the world with well trained staffs. The perfect place you can come in and have implant injection.

A glucose sensor would be good
This seems like the biggest area of innovation left. Having one of those at the ready would surely help not just those who already have been diagnosed but help those who may be borderline to make lifestyle changes and possibly prevent diabetes.

Which is what I have got - a Mi Band 5. Helpful for alerts, some OK monitors. Good battery life. And cheap!

Very happy for the price - but I'm not a "power user"!

For myself, I can't see any attraction to an Apple watch. Until they incorporate a mechanism for measuring thyroid hormones!
