Apple and others have huge wads of cash sitting outside of the U.S. because of current high corporate tax concerns. Trump would probably like to lower those tax rates to bring that money into the country for investment purposes.

Repatriating those assets would be wonderful for Apple and for the country.
Corporate welfare would not be great for the country. Let corporations follow the law just like everyone else. Let them pay the taxes on the profits they've made. This country is going further and further down the rabbit hole of inequality. There is no reason to give special perks to the very powerful and wealthy.

LOL...the only thing Trump is interested in is importing Russian oil to prop up the Russian treasury and aid their expansion in Eastern Europe. Tech? What is he going to do...demand that Apple to take out NATO's computer systems?

It's probably better to go and at least try to persuade these clowns that building back doors and other ridiculous notions they may have are crazy. Trump is going to make such a mess of things for tech especially. What a total fool.

Trump is above that petty ********.

It's amazing someone could actually think this. The Trump persona is the definition of petty.

Accept the fact that Trump is making America great again. It is slowly happening right now.

It would be nice if there was actually evidence to support this. So far he's put together a garbage cabinet, been skipping intelligence briefings because he's "smart," and continues to act like a child on twitter. So great.

I'm on board with Trump talking with these companies to try and get them to house manufacturing here in the US instead of China.
It's a reasonable idea. But then you need an educated work force who can do light weight engineering. America has pretty much dismantled public education. That's how these dummies got into power in the first place. Right. So restore public education and crank out some engineers that these industries need and then you might be talking sense.

Quite simply, I don't want to align myself with any brand that actively cooperates with this racist, sexist, xenophobic bigot.

It's fine to passively get by under this administration, business is business. But don't entertain this moron. I hope Elon Musk gives him the middle finger.

Poor snowflake, better go to your safe space

Oh and one last thing for the Trump supporters.

The company you love was founded by Steve Jobs, who was half Syrian.

ENJOY!

Jobs was of Syrian descent, adopted by a white Jewish couple

A shame that the truth does not agree with what you say here. Everything Trump wants fixed are very important issues.

Really, saying Trump is petty isn't the truth? You obviously haven't paid attention to the man speak or tweet.

And the problem with the issues he wants "fixed" is he has a fundamental misunderstanding of what those issues are. He's not going to fix anything.

I guess we agree to disagree here. Unless you are saying that getting more American people into a job is petty. And imporving the US economy (post the Obama train wreck) is petty also.

I have read more @RealDonaldTrump tweets and watched more Trump speech videos over the past 2 years than I care to remember. Just so many.

The only policy of his I disagree with is his wanting to hard lower taxes across the board. I am against it because I want to see how it is funded before I can say it is a good thing. Tax breaks that are not properly funded hurt the economy.

The question is what will Apple do when the U.S. Govt orders them to back-door their OS's, with a secrecy order attached. The folks Trump has nominated favor a much tougher line on govt access than the current admin (which was horrendous already).

That is the big elephant in the room. If word were to get out of such things, sales of new kit would crash - so most, if not all vendors would want such a thing kept secret as well.

This smells like crony capitalism. Hopefully it's not. I'm all for a corporate tax reform to keep the U.S. globally competitive as long as it doesn't unfairly benefit the giants. A special deal with Apple is a no-no.

It's the giants who aren't paying any corporate tax under the current tax regime.

Trump and Congress should immediately slash corporate tax to 10% or less to benefit the non-giants, the ones who actually have a chance at increasing good paying jobs.

I just don't get this argument by Trump sycophants. Objective evidence (remember that old thing) supports mainstream journalism; they cannot lie to you because they are regulated and you can fact check.

Unlike the fake news that pops on your "non main stream media" sites, which is regularly debunked and not believed by anybody with a modicum of intelligence.

But as soon as you brought up "main stream media", I knew you were looking to support your views with whatever "news" you could.

Good luck with your economy under Trump. He's already started lying to you. But you more than deserve to be deceived if you fell for the ********* he fed you.

Aw shucks, they cannot lie to you? 'member when they lied to you about WMD in Iraq?

'member?

Yes the mainstream media can very well lie, either by omission of truth or direct fabrication. Do they? Usually no, but sometimes, oh yes.
