I guess we agree to disagree here. Unless you are saying that getting more American people into a job is petty. And imporving the US economy (post the Obama train wreck) is petty also.

I have read more @RealDonaldTrump tweets and watched more Trump speech videos over the past 2 years than I care to remember. Just so many.

The only policy of his I disagree with is his wanting to hard lower taxes across the board. I am against it because I want to see how it is funded before I can say it is a good thing. Tax breaks that are not properly funded hurt the economy.

No, of course I want to see more people get jobs. I just don't think he fundamentally understands how to do that beyond catch phrases.

The pettiness stems from his thin-skinnedness. Granted, I hope I'm ultimately wrong, but the man does not have the disposition for the role of president.

And you're right on the tax thing, but i have to take what you say with a grain of salt considering you called the economy the Obama train wreck. You seem to have a disconnect from reality in using that phrase.

Aw shucks, they cannot lie to you? 'member when they lied to you about WMD in Iraq?

'member?

Yes the mainstream media can very well lie, either by omission of truth or direct fabrication. Do they? Usually no, but sometimes, oh yes.

You're right, but the alternative isn't to blindly trust the non-mainstream sites that are accountable to no one.

This has got to be both humbling and humiliating for all these CEOs who campaigned so heavily against him. And I love it.

Revelations predicts a symbol on the foreheads or arms of the followers of the Beast. And they followed the Beast, (who was really REALLY great and knew everything better than everyone on the planet) and made an image of the old beast who had a head wound (Alzheimers) talk and the people were amazed at the false prophet and his talking television image of Ronald Wilson Reagan, whose number is 6-6-6 numbers in length. And the Beast which had many heads in many states appeared to live again after being declared dead by the news media and the Democrats and so the head-wound was healed and the False Prophet (liar) stood on the shore, ready to devour the child that represented freedom that was sent to the wilderness on the wings of an eagle to stand against the darkness for a times, time and half a time (traditionally interpreted as 3.5 years or perhaps 350 years, but sounds an awful lot like 250 years to these ears) before the Beast will find the child named FREEDOM and make war against it.

In the news lately...oddly.... : "The United States is 200 and, err – 50 years': Obama struggles to work out America's age (and if you're wondering, Mr. President, we're 240 this year!) Obama fumbled during speech in Omaha, Nebraska, Wednesday.
He said America is 250 years old; it will actually turn 240 this year." --http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3398652/The-United-States-200-err-50-years-Obama-struggles-work-America-s-age-wondering-Mr-President-240-year.html

And all those whose name are not written in the Lamb's Book of Life and whose destiny is the Lake of Fire will follow the Beast with wonder....

That's like begging the music industry to find us another Elvis. Never gonna happen unfortunately.

Elvis was an imitator (i.e. an actor). He simply made black music acceptable to certain white folk. Is that really so hard to find?

Someone who knows more than me can maybe explain: We have 4.6% unemployment (fairly hot economy), we generally tend to prefer higher-paying manufacturing (e.g., making silicon chips, aeronautics, robotics) and service jobs, so why do we want bring assembly jobs back to the US?
Because a robust economy needs to have opportunity for a decent quality of life for all. Not just software engineers and waiters.

But assembly jobs are not a long term solution. Like when any other occupation throughout history became obsolete, we must pivot to something else to create jobs.

Imagine if SJ was alive, what would he be saying at that summit?

Nothing as SJ wouldn't go to such a gathering with somebody who was not voted for by the American people.

Quite simply, I don't want to align myself with any brand that actively cooperates with this racist, sexist, xenophobic bigot.

This. The next occupant of the whitehouse is the union of many terrible traits. You don't associate with that type as it reflects on you personally.

I just don't get this argument by Trump sycophants. Objective evidence (remember that old thing) supports mainstream journalism; they cannot lie to you because they are regulated and you can fact check.

Unlike the fake news that pops on your "non main stream media" sites, which is regularly debunked and not believed by anybody with a modicum of intelligence.

But as soon as you brought up "main stream media", I knew you were looking to support your views with whatever "news" you could.

Good luck with your economy under Trump. He's already started lying to you. But you more than deserve to be deceived if you fell for the ********* he fed you.
Seriously feel like we did the same dance as Brexit that night...
How can some coward like him that avoided draft multiple times be the Commander in Chief...

I'm guessing it will be about bringing back oversea's profit's with some type of tax holiday.

That would be a disaster:

Trump would have deported Steve Jobs, since he was half Syrian.

Corporate welfare would not be great for the country. Let corporations follow the law just like everyone else. Let them pay the taxes on the profits they've made. This country is going further and further down the rabbit hole of inequality. There is no reason to give special perks to the very powerful and wealthy.

The reason why we have to tempt companies with "special" rights is because of trade agreements. How can an American company compete against a Chinese(or third world country) one when many safety, environmental, social regulations are ignored in their country? See, all these things cost money and are generally good but when you have a trade agreement with a country that doesn't respect a higher standard in the name of profits - Americans lose.

The best way for a tech company to receive Trump's ire, I mean to be noticed, is to not attend. Like Trump or not, it is better to provide feedback, even if it is ignored. Same reason to vote.

Given that Facebook, Twitter, and Google can likely give him "feedback" that 90% of the mirror universe nonsense his supporters believe came from Moldavian teenagers earning 1cent/click, I'm not sure it's feedback he'll want to hear.

Screaming "FAKE NEWS!", even at things Kellyanne Conway said on his behalf hours earlier, is currently his thing.

I'm unsure about this too. That 4.6% number only includes those seeking jobs. Maybe it's because some believe that the some of the unemployed not included in that percentage are leeching off of social welfare. But, eh, I don't know.

It would make more sense if the U.S. brought more immigrants in*, particularly refugees, and put them to work. Seems natural that a less socialist country with more cheap jobs should work well for bringing in immigrants. Unfortunately, Trump doesn't agree, and he also thinks for some reason that our economy is tanking.

* only legal immigrants!

Yeah, it's fine if you read multiple sources (yes that includes Fox and MSNBC too) and just pull out the facts. Not good if you're just going to the opinion articles. Also bad if you're taking facts only from one source since they like to cherrypick or use deceptive wording. You might as well be reading the non-fact-checked "indie" news at that point.

The thing is, I've heard every Republican candidate for anything ever called racist, and I suspect those people just watch MSNBC because I've never seen any facts to support that. The ones who are obviously racist are those pushing Affirmative Action laws since those are literally racial discrimination, and those are always Democrats.

They honestly reported what the Republican administration was telling them, and what was being claimed at the UN. Are you honestly asserting that the same non-mainstream media that now reports Hillary was part of human trafficking at a pizza parlor were, back then, advising that Sadam did not have WMDs?

Not Attending
o Uber CEO Travis Kalanick
o Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky
o Netflix CEO Reed Hastings
o Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff
o Slack CEO Stewart Butterfield
o Dropbox CEO Drew Houston
o HP CEO Meg Whitman
o Mark Cuban

If I was a shareholder in any of these businesses, I would not be happy. These CEOs are each running a company but are acting as grade schoolers (with the exception of Mark Cuban). If they personally can not stand meeting with Trump, send someone else to represent their companies.

So do you want the U.S. to make special tax deals with its largest corporations or change the trade deals with China, maybe adding tariffs?
