I read that as un-ionized briefly. I am not a morning person lol

Any company that has unionized labor usually deserves it.

While I am sure the Teamster or other unions lick at their chops to gouge Apple of its billions, it will never happen.

Any union organizer that tries to move in or slow down the line, a back up Mac Pro assembly line will start up overseas and the Austin plan will shut down or convert to services.

I like "made in the USA" initiative. Many technology firms invested thrilions of dollars in China in the last decades providing better life for the people who lives there, and thats a good thing. Imagine having country like China with poberty like Somalia, Afganistan... It would be a horrible world to live in, both for China and rest of the world. However, since China is now the biggest economy in the world, so they must find a way to make their lives without or less western money and must start to compete on quality and quantities, not only on low workforce basis. Id be happy to pay 100$ more for my iProduct knowing its was produced with cleaner and more sustainable manufacturing process providing fair wages to the workers.

How would letting a communist country that is a enemy stay in poverty effect the rest of the world? A communist country that steals it's tech or insist on a tech transfer as they have no tech inventions themselves.

Thank you. Sorry but China matters ZERO to me and most of the USA. They can work out their own problems. Maybe if they opened up the economy, started innovating their own stuff and stopped reproducing like insects things would be better? Right?

As for this factory in Austin..... So happy to see it. We were always told that these companies just can't find the workers here or whatever BS excuses they came up with. Of course,I'm sure the always angry shareholders HATE this idea. I mean, paying people good wages in the USA to do work that could be done by slaves in china? How could this have happened? Well, either way, good.

I want the mac made by people who believe in math an science please... Hopefully they keep a Chinese version around so at least some of them will work properly. Somehow I think high school graduates who believe in math and science and not religion might be better suited to building computer hardware.

I see moving jobs to china as more than greed but conspiracy! That they keep moving critical industries to the enemy and lying to the public about it! To that the military tech that has been transferred to them! Now bring the rest of them all back. Americans should ban app made in china tech. Cook did something as Google sold us out again only to get screwed again by china.

I don't think a small Mac Pro manufacture in America is all that meaningful.

Believe in math and science? Not sure what you mean here. Those producing iPads and iPhones aren't Einsteins. They are severely underpaid and overworked. Religion? Huh? Did you mean to post this here in this thread? I just don't see the relevancy.

If you are trying to say china has a smarter population then you are so wrong. If they are so smart why can't they produce or innovate end thing themselves? Everything they do is because of someone else's idea or they outright copy the device and call it their own.

I don't agree with his points necessarily but factory workers are not the reason for innovation in any country:

I was making an attempt at a joke. It just didn't land. Texas has a really high high school drop-out rate. I think it's almost comical that Apple went to Texas for its new factory. There is no need to get offended. That wasn't my intent. I'm from Texas hence the last 3 letters in my name.

That is very true. As I've stated in previous threads, Texas really is a good place to build a factory of this sort.

Eddie Cue seems to be hanging out with Tim Cook so much when it comes to work-related trips I wouldn't be surprised if he became CEO when Cook retires.
