The problem is not her.
Tim Cook on Angela Ahrendts 2013
“She shares our values and our focus on innovation, and she places the same strong emphasis as we do on the customer experience. She has shown herself to be an extraordinary leader throughout her career and has a proven track record.”
Tim Cook on John Browett 2012
“Our retail stores are all about customer service, and John shares that commitment like no one else we’ve met,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “We are thrilled to have him join our team and bring his incredible retail experience to Apple.”

New colors

Following iPhone gold; now we'll have it in plaid patterns :)

BTW: Burberry stores are already all white; so I see the rationale

j/k

She won't mesh will with the Apple culture.

I could be wrong.

And what is "the Apple culture"?

(I know a few people who work at Apple in Cupertino. For some reason, I don't have the same insight as you regarding Apple culture or whether she will fit the Apple culture or not.)

Ha.

Looks like she is a female Browett.

But, I wonder what she thinks about the hideous iPhone 5C colors... Burberry would have laughed their a$$ off if someone proposed those colors on any of their products.

Einstein, her job isn't to build product. Also, clothes and consumer electronics are not the same thing.

I am pretty sure she is going to be like an icebreaker... with that chin and all, looks like she can sink the iceberg that sank the titanic.

Whatever 'dude'. You are judging her on her looks. Doubt you make the same comments about person of your own gender.

----------

Oh, never mind.

How do you know I am judging her based on her look only?
Just because I called her hot or cougar?

Making too many assumptions "dude" smh

Oh please. She's already famous, successful and wealthy. Past those landmarks in a person's career, it just becomes about new challenges and having fun. Plus, I imagine she wants to move back to the US and CA in particular. Great place if you're loaded - I bet she buys into Pac Heights.

She'd be crazy to buy into a 1½ hour commute each way - stretching to 2½ hours if the Cupertino city council isn't wise enough to kill the spaceship campus.

I'd bet on Woodside, LAH or the hills above Cupertino or Saratoga.

And maybe a small 8000 sq ft condo in the city for weekends.

Be careful - there are a lot of rainbow lovers in the ranks of the Apple fans - it's the gayest OS around.

Apple understands the beauty of retail and how important it is. Funny, I used to like Burberry around 2008. I would make a point of going to find their stores and wanting to buy something. Unfortunately my experience in store was nothing to write home about and their prices are a bit ridiculous for the quality. I haven't considered buying anything Burberry in the past 5 years. I hope this doesn't carry over Apple.

+Infinity.

Burberry is terrible. The corporate stores have terrible sales service, and that includes the higher-end Burberry Brit store in NYC. The clothing is overpriced in regards to quality and not well cut... Ralph Lauren is everything Burberry wishes it could be.

ITT: A bunch of people who are upset because they saw "Blackberry" and immediately called this a bad decision.

Burberry! The luxury clothing line, which she has done wonders with. I think she's a fine choice.

I did wonder how Jony Ive does it - I just assumed he just got up really early and left really late.

Of course, she did grow up a few miles from your hometown. :D

Seriously, though, she seems like a good fit. Burberry is an upmarket retailer as opposed to Browett's PCWorld/Dixon's which makes Best Buy look like Tiffany by comparison.
