Time Machine Funky on Tahoe, shows NO pre-Tahoe backups, struggles to activate

Time Machine is acting really weird on Tahoe (Macbook Air M3). It backs up fine, but the app doesn't always activate when I try to open up to go into Time Machine and it shows no backups older than one day, i.e., since I upgraded to Tahoe. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I need to find an old file from a month ago but... guess that's not happening LOL. So much for backing up.
