How do you know for sure thats from intel? and how do you know they dont wrap all the pallets? Do you work at Intel or Apple?

It was an Intel ad. Do you think they said to a designer:

'hey, can you design us a laptop that looks just like a possible MacBook successor ? Make sure it's got the perfect rubber lining around the bezel and the chassis shape is almost exactly the same'

?

Thing is, he's been purporting to own all these devices etc. and offering advice to other posters who may actually, you know, believe him. So, yeah, it's kind of important that someone call him out. Also, he's needlessly rude a lot of the time which is why his name stuck out to me. So...

Frankly I don't care about what devices he has/doesn't have. What I know is that he doesn't have infallible information regarding the upcoming refresh, nobody on this forum does. I know that he is stating his opinion (without much to back it up) as undeniable fact. While that may be annoying, it is far from uncommon. So if you want to call him out to keep people from listening to him, fine. I think most people have already figured out that his word is not law. But after you call him out, why keep arguing? Why not just set the example and make a point of ignoring him?

Anyway... does anybody think it likely that Apple would do invites on Tuesday, and event on Thursday? If not, how about the original march 1 date for an event?

Suspense is seriously killing me. I do wish for event announcement to ease my feeling. I will be on nervous breakdown till thursday without one.

Hey, do me a favour: read through the entire thread. You'll see I made exactly 1 post before you chimed in. And it was to call him out—not exactly what I'd say qualifies as "keep arguing" with him.

My bad, I meant it to be a collective "you", I didn't mean to point out you specifically. My most humble apologies, I bow to your experience ;)

Maybe for the iPad 2 event... I'm sure we'll see the MBP on Thursday, I mean come on, they are arriving at stores in Europe today... I don't think there will be an event though, but I wouldn't rule out a significant update despite this.

I'm torn at this point. I give it a 50/50 that either tomorrow we get a press invite to a media event for March 1st, or else we just see new updated units. If they are changing the design, I still think we'll see a media event. The Macbook Pros are the lion's share of computers that Apple sells, and I believe that Apple would perceive a change in that design worthy of media attention.

On the other hand, I can't imaging what the Unibody development costs were, so Apple may not be ready to scrap it yet. If its a speed bump with new graphics chips and Sandybridge it will just show up.

The time does feel right for a media event showing a new design, announcing a mobile partnership with ATI/AMD, and taking the wraps off Lightpeak.

Its going to be fun to see which way this one goes.

with the recent news of the OS on SSD, lower weight, I am more inclined to believe of an event.

I'll believe that there will be an event, when the event occurs.

I just picked up a 13" MBP, and unless there is something compelling in a refresh, I'm gonna keep a hold of this one. If the 13" MBP gets the same display that the 13" Air has, Then I will be doing my *third* migration in a week... An SSD would be nice, but I can add one to this machine if I need one that bad...

Hey hcho3 - larger glass trackpad + OS SSD + 1/2LB lighter = redesign.

Get the hell over yourself.

They've been fine with simply sending out press releases the past couple of years. The MBA were released with an event simply because Apple wanted to show off Lion.

I'm not saying that the lack of an event means that the upgrades are less significant, but I don't understand why there needs to be an event every time they release something. It is an update to their line of Pros. It's a nice upgrade, but they aren't releasing laptops powered on unicorn tears.

Man the force in trollin. Is strong in this thread

agreed i just had a read through... and i honestly couldnt stop laughing my ass off... the ego's in this thread are redic

i dont think there will be an event redesign or no redesign, imho apple just do the events to show us new cool OS things like how awsome the new gestures are or how we can now read books on my tiny little iphone...

really the only events ive seen are for new devices, or new OS

come on gang, this is apple...maybe there will be a event, but we never thought of a event like that...a whole new way of making a event!
