For the fist time this year, I’m not going to by a sheath case (after iPhone 6 Plus, 7Plus, X, 12, 13 Pro, 14 PM, 15 PM and 16 PM). Since the 14PM case, I’m really disappointed with caudabe.

They’re offering two versions, one covered as you’ve posted, and another with the full opening.
Ahh I see it now. Hmm maybe it does look better covered.

Will have to wait and see how they look with real pics once people have it. Unfortunately, these mockups don't show accurate these look since there is no black 17 Pro.

I wonder if the covering camera/plateau is bad for heat now that more components there. The pro’s do have vapor chamber though.

Fair point...

On the other hand: It has always been the case that cases covered the part of the phone that heats up..

With the 17 pro, any case (except for bumpers) will always cover the hottest part of the phone: The vapor chamber (unless I completely misunderstand how that technology works)

Can't believe they're not offering a navy blue. That's been the case I've gotten every year since the XS. Time

Yeah kinda irritating they don't offer all of the colours for both the precise and cutout. I don't mind the precise version of the Sheath but much prefer the cutout, however the only colour I want is the blue (which they only do in the precise version).

Makes me wonder whether I should switch from a Deep Blue 17 Pro to a Silver one, just so it'll go better with a grey cutout version of the Sheath.

I finally moved away from the Otterbox Defender case to the Caudabe Paragon. I realized that the reason why I thought I needed a Defender case was the near disasters I had when I had my headphones directly plugged into the 3.5mm jack, the cable hooking on things, and pulling the iPhone out of a pocket to crash onto concrete sidewalks. My earphones are no longer connected to my iPhone, so the iPhone now stays secure in my possible bag. Now that I have a Caudabe case installed, I am not going back. The metal buttons are a game-changer. I also detested the cutout the Defender case had for the side camera controls.

Very few choices for the base 17 so far. I went with the Eucalyptus Sheath for my black 17 and my wife’s getting the Moonstone Paragon for her sage 17. I am glad the Sheath is thinner this year - I’m coming from a 12 and that one was very thin. It sounds like the last few versions got thicker, so hopefully this one is more like what I’ve been used to.
