Wait, you're selling a white 16gb for ATT and you don't know if you can get $400 for it? Do you live in Southern California? You can easily get at least $450 for that on craigslist. Maybe iPhone prices are artificially high here, but even black 16gbs sell for $400-450

No i dont live in california. Here in Texas, the most I've seen them go for are $350.
Lucky to get $400, basically when i tell someone 400 they laugh at me. lol

SoCal craigslist market is one of the main reasons I like the iPhone experience over any Android phone :)

With Android the amount of people wanting to buy your phone shrinks considerably. Not to mention the fact that you phone gets outdated in a couple of months. The combination of these two factors always had me struggling to not lose too much money when hopping from Android phone to Android phone.

The iPhone 4 meanwhile has stayed a consistend 400 - 450 even after being a year old. I purchased my iPhone 4 about 6 months ago for $400 so I know for sure I won't lose much (if any) when I go to upgrade to the iPhone 5.

I entirely see your point. But to clarify some things; Im not buying the next iPhone full price, ill be up for an upgrade, so its gonna cost whatever the subsidized price is (iPhone 4 cost me $199, im pretty sure the next iPhone will be around that price or the same).

Next, I would love to keep my iPhone 4 till the next iPhone (that was the plan when i bought it) but i kinda need some extra money right now, hence me selling it (i was offered $350, three times so far) and getting something cheap & different to hold me off.

The problem is; I cant find a cheap phone to buy thats worth it, other than the nexus one for 270. I dont want to purchase a phone that is very outdated and a bummer to use.

I would appreciate if anyone out there recommends something thats nice to use and not 4 years old :)

Im honestly tied at what to do since i cant find a phone thats, to me, worth purchasing to hold me off for god knows how long till the next iphone is released.

Could you deal with an iphone 3G or maybe even a 3GS (it seems at least in my area the people on craigslist are still asking for a little less than that phone you are looking for for a 3GS and from what I hear from people on here the 3GS is not that much slower. Hell, it will apparently be able to run at least all the features of iOS5 that have been announced).

The 3GS might be more worth it (it would be hard to go back to a 3G from the 4, the 3G is definitely much slower. I hear though the 3GS isn't too bad especially since it doesn't have a high res screen, some people are claiming it actually runs smoother for games cause of that).

I find it pretty hard to get bored of iOS, but if you really want something new, I would go with some sort of Android phone. Blackberries simply do not have the functionality as does Android or iOS. It'll be a big step backwards if you go to Blackberry.
