I will always have one for some situations - they're just too damn easy to use to discard....that and the fact that with icarbon strips, I still get more nice comments on this cover than any other case I own (several)

I would recommend a Smart Cover. They're of high quality, and they are the best cases that turn into stands. I've tried other cases that work as stands, but none of them work as well as the smart cover.

Yeah, going to pick one up. The only question is the leather one worth it or not?

I just upgraded to a leather smart cover. I love them. Protection for the glass and easy to remove. Perfect case for me.

I prefer Mercedes but that is me. ;)

Seriously, I voted no to smart covers! I prefer 360 degree protection, hence the Otter Box Defender or a case from Marware's lineup.

EDIT: I thought the emblem located at the bottom right of the cover is a BMW logo, silly me!

Smart Cover and neoprene case

I use the smart cover and a cheap (like $12) neoprene zip case that protects well when transporting.

I've had a smart cover since the day they were released. It'd feel weird not to have one! Like the poster before me mentioned, I keep it in a ColcaSac sleeve when transporting it.

No. They come off too easily. Mine slipped off once as I was picking up my iPad, and I almost dropped it.

I love this idea. Product link for the curious

I'm definitely getting a cover. I like being able to put the tablet down without worrying about denting/scratching the aluminum or the glass.

I love the smart cover, black leather smart cover on white iPad over here

When I still had my iPad 2, I had a black leather SmartCover. I think I used it twice. I never used it when I was at home. I preferred using the iPad in portrait orientation, so the SmartCover wasn't useful for me as a way to prop the iPad up for typing.

However, I did have a back case that I kept on my iPad at all times. That way, I could put it down on a hard surface and not worry about scratching the back. It was a Speck SmartShell.
