How about you buy the 5s and give her your 5?

Or buy the 6 and get AppleCare+ and you should be taken care of for two years.

----------

Here is what I would do if I accidentally bend my iPhone 6: take it to Apple and exchange it for another since I have AC+.

I will certainly not post about it on macrumors.

You realize that you only get 2 returns for "accidental damage" under AC and neither are free right?

Here's the thing. All phones bend. Plastic is flexible, too. Some do bend back. But either way you are bending the phone. This is bad. Nothing inside of the phone is really designed to bend. Folks doing this need to take note and change their behavior as they are lucky they have not snapped the LCD, circuit board, or damaged the battery.

People have found ways to destroy every cell phone ever manufactured. This is nothing new. People are unaware of involuntary body movements and the forces they can exert.

My 5S is on the verge of being too tall for my jeans pockets. I certainly would not be sitting with a 6 or 6+ in there. Those who cry "normal use" are just deluded. Smaller phones are more portable and pocket friendly. The 6 is a case of be careful what you ask for. Huge phones are less portable and pocket friendly. It's that simple. It's so silly to say a "phone" must fit in a "pocket" without bending after demanding the phone be made too big to safely ride in many pockets.

Finally, most of the slight bending is purely cosmetic and does not affect the usefulness of the phone. It happened, get over it. If you're worried, get the insurance.

I 1000000% realize that. But I do not buy an expensive electronic gadget if I am not certain that I can replace it even if I have to pay full price for the replacement. Money has not been an issue for me for a while now.

Does anyone know what the best android phone is? If my iPhone 6 bends and I didn't do anything to it, I'm done with sticking up for Apple. Enough is enough.

I want an android phone that is pretty much lag free. I've seen some friends with Samsung 5s and Note 4 and they have micro stutters and lags all over the place, but the HTC One M8 was pretty smooth overall and the animations didn't seem to stutter much.

What is going to happen if your iPhone bends the same way and YOU only had it in your front pocket? Are you going to say it's your fault it bent? Are you going to say that you weren't using your iPhone in a normal fashion?"

That is exactly what I would do. I must have the only good one of the millions and millions sold. It's been in front pocket constantly. I even went to Universal Studios and had it in my pocket while being trashed around on roller coasters. Not bent, not even a little bit.

I'm OCD when it comes to my phone, I would notice and I've checked.

I'd say that it sucks I bent my phone, but I bent my phone.

In the same way if I damaged any other device, I would take responsibility for it.

Valid point. The replacement will be $79 ($178 if you factor in cost of AppleCare+) but at least it's not as bad as buying a whole new phone.

The Note 4 and HTC One M8 both bend. Ya know, if you bend them.

I just wanna know how they would feel if they were treated the same exact way they treat others.

I'd get over it. This is an internet forum after all, what do I care what others think of me here?

All of this. Why so dramatic OP? People are dicks online, it happens and you just have to get over it. If I mocked you for a bending iPhone then it happened to me, I'd just shrug and figure that's how life works.

good, because most company intend to build phones that don't bend. I never had a phone that bended before iPhone 6+.

I can say this if I ever break a screen because I've never done that. Why isn't everyone upset over broken screens anyway? They often break during "normal use" after all. I've had many home phones over the years and drop them all the time. Talking and they just fall down. Normal use. Not a single one has broken, cracked, shattered, etc. Drop one of these fancy cell phones and it's over. Think I'll go start a thread.

Aren't you cool. Most of us don't buy a $800-$1000 phone that won't last 2 years though.

Functional illiteracy in America is a real problem.

So wait, you're saying if you were a dick to someone and had the same thing happen to you your takeaway would be "that's how life works" and not "don't be a dick"?

What makes you think you will not bend them? changing phone or changing the habit.

This thread is for the people who constantly think that people with bent iPhones did something drastic in order for it to bend. It's for those who constantly call these people liars and choose not to believe that they only had it in their front pocket.

What is going to happen if your iPhone bends the same way and YOU only had it in your front pocket? Are you going to say it's your fault it bent? Are you going to say that you weren't using your iPhone in a normal fashion?

If you wanna tell others your story, are you going to be okay with people calling you liars, or telling you that you shouldn't have sat on it?

Will you believe us now or would you just say "I must've been irresponsible with my iPhone"

Let me see...

I would:

Be annoyed. Possibly there would be swearing.
Stop and think about what I may have done to bend it.
If I can't think of anything, I will be surprised.
Contact Apple to attempt to get a replacement.

Yep. That's about it.

I dare say that had you discovered any bending after being trashed on roller coasters while it was in your pockets, you would not blame Apple for this turn of events, either.

Neither would I.

I only have an issue when people tell the story as if the phone bent itself.

Like "my phone is shaped like the letter C, it was just sitting on my desk overnight though and when I woke up it was bent."

To the bending naysayers...

good, because most company intend to build phones that don't bend. I never had a phone that bended before iPhone 6+.

As far as i know, "bended" is not a verb. It is bent. I keep seeing this over and over again.

Apple products are expensive and fragile. If you cannot afford them, then do not buy them. You have free will, you know your finances, exercise a bit of restraint and do not buy something that is expensive and fragile. I do not buy Ferraris and Jaguars for that reason. And I am NOT saying that the iPhone is like expensive cars. Apple cares about design more than robustness. Apple products are expensive. Knowing these to be a fact, then you should buy something cheaper and more robust.

Yup. But there's a reason I'm not a dick to people...offline. Get over it, it'll be okay.
