Jobs was amazing on stage, best Apple keynote ever with great pacing and really good demos.

Painfully slow? Tiny low res screen? Compared to what?

The original iPhone was not released in Canada but that did not stop a number of my friends from acquiring one. I will never forget four of us crowding around the devise, just wanting to play with it; we were all blown away. The owner then reminded us this was version 1.0 and try to imagine what it would be like going into the future. The world has changed because of the iPhone.

I remember playing Labyrinth on a friend's iPhone for the first time I saw the device. I was so gobsmacked. Though the iPhone was far out of my budget then, I ended up getting iPod touch when it was available.

The fact is that Steve Jobs wouldn't allow the iPhone X-11 to design with an ugly notch screen. In 2017, Steve Jobs will be unveiling a full-screen iPhone instead of a notch screen iPhone by Tim Cook.

Oh? Are you a medium? Can you contact my dog Smokey? He died in 1990.

I wish I jumped on the bandwagon sooner! I laughed at the idea of a $500 'phone' back then but cannot imagine life without my phone now. It's made many tasks much, much, easier.

Happy 13th to the iPhone!

It’s interesting that Jobs himself said you’re lucky if you get to work on one ”iPhone” your whole career, but now, tech forum types still mourning the loss of their hero, want Cook’s family killed because he doesn’t innovate a new “iPhone“ once a day and twice on weekends 🤪

The issue is seemingly few people know what the word innovation means, and they toss it around constantly. Apple has innovated every year since, albeit smaller swings. Comparing the iPhone 11 to the original is staggering.

This man was a brilliant presenter. Wow.

also, I love the moments of awe in the audience seeing the touchscreen interaction. Scrolling thru music playlists by touch, pinch zoom a photo... those were truly mind blowing in 2007.

I didn't get the original iPhone but I remember that same feeling when I played a game on my iPhone 3G. It's hard to describe what a leap it was compared to other phones around at the time.

Wow, it's only been 13 years??!!

The device today is so much more sophisticated than the original but couldn't and wouldn't be here without it!

RIP Steve, you changed the world, your legacy continues.

I played with one of the first gen iPhones when it came out. While it was unique, it was also painfully slow and had a tiny low res screen. It was obvious Apple would sell millions of them, but I didn't want one.
But now you see it?

Im sorry, I’ll leave now.

I still remember watching this keynote and being blown away. Even as simple as the original iPhone was by today's standards, it was still an amazing piece of kit. For all the features and cool functionality that we've gained over the years, I do miss the simplicity of the first few iPhones and iterations of iOS.

Didn't jump onto the 1st Gen. But, once I code write my own native apps (iPhone 3G), I was in!

During the keynote, Jobs said

"We filed for over 200 patents for all the inventions in iPhone, and we intend to protect them."

Why didn't that stop the flood of competing products imitating the iPhone design and interface?

Today is also the second anniversary of the eleventh anniversary of when Steve Jobs unveiled the original iPhone.

That’s a strange coincidence now that I think about it. What’re the odds?
It's actually the third anniversary of the tenth anniversary. Duh!

I still remember reading about the presentation at Macworld and saying, "I definitely want that phone." Eventually made the switch from my BlackBerry to an iPhone and haven't looked back.

Am I the only one who wants the original design of iOS back? That look is simply amazing and could easily hold up today if they'd ditch the horrible flat design.

Still one of the best product presentations of all time. I remember vividly being amazed by the UI (while I was fumbling with my old-fashioned Ericsson phone trying to figure out the codes that you had to enter for certain features :p).

THE best of all time in my opinion
