I’m referring to her and her ilk.You do realize that Oprah is only 5% of Apple TV content, right?

Not really. Most important producers take pay cuts to gain control. Sure they get points on box office proceeds but that is always a gamble. Once you've got dozens of award winning movies under your belt, the money is only there to maintain a lifestyle and prove your value to the community. But no one is remembered in Hollywood for dying rich. You are remembered for making a mark an actually changing the world.Trust me, it's ALWAYS about the 💰
Ageism and racism, no trifecta today? Many viewers (older ones like my father) don't follow these stories so they only see Oprah plastered all over AppleTV+ homepage every time they go there and think there is no content that an old white man cares about. My father loved the first Hanks movie so I'm sure he'll love this. Hanks (and Oprah) fit perfectly into Apple's philosophy. Family friendly, progressive, and highly valuable personalities that appeal to wide audience.
So you're saying if Apple paid Hanks $1 billion and gave him no control he wouldn't do this movie? Or if they gave him all the control and NO money, he would still do it? Of course both of these scenarios are far-fetched but just making a point. Not really. Most important producers take pay cuts to gain control. I’m sure it has nothing to do with Racism but it’s interesting thats where your mind went trying to paint someone as a racist. Oprah was the queen on daytime talk tv. I have no interest in her work either so I don’t watch. Pretty simple.Ageism and racism, no trifecta today?
God, not everything is about discrimination. Take a chill pill.Ageism and racism, no trifecta today?
Gosh if only that were able to be applied to “both sides of the discussion.” 🙄God, not everything is about discrimination. Take a chill pill.
Apple had nothing to do with the production or control. They simply won the already-produced product at auction. When you're as big as Hanks, it's no longer about money but about control. Apple probably gave him total control as a producer and star that no studios could match. I'm sure they also sweetened the deal with some backend points or streaming numbers incentives.
As long as he didn't write any we are safe. Season 8 looked wonderful it was the writing that was so terrible. It appears he did a couple, but he also directed one of my favorites: hard home and battle of the bastards: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miguel_Sapochnik#Television_credits
Jeez, I thought Greyhound was absolutely awful, and I'm a big Tom Hanks fan and a sucker for most movies about warships, submarines, etc. (Crimson Tide, Hunt For Red October, Das Boot, K-19). Was very disappointed, so I sure hope this one is better.Nice!!!!! Looking forward to more Tom Hanks on Apple TV+. Greyhound was superb, high hopes for this.
Ha, I want those glasses too! Found some Ray Ban's that look similar.I want those glasses! Anybody knows which brand are they? 🤓 🤣
Tom Hanks was great in Captain Philips and Greyhound. He does his best whenever is on board on a ship. In space or sea, doesn't make that difference...
Another troll comment. The streak goes on.Another miss for apple. The streak goes on.
