I did pickup and completed the 2 year contract sign up in store 2 days ago, I want to switch to next and have heard 2 different things from att and apple reps online today. Att says even though it was purchased through Apple, the att store can switch this at a att store. She said her supervisor verified. Then the apple rep said the Apple Store and do the switch and keep the same phone through the process. Not sure which one to try. When I cancelled my next phone for preorder it took 6 days to reset and was a hassle. I'm wondering since this time it's on a contract it will reset instantly? The rep said the way they had to reset my eligibility last time with next was to accelerate the payments manually and that was the issue. Does anyone know if the 2 year contract reset is instant?

Just so you guys know, if you simply cancel the pickup it wont even touch your upgrade eligibility....

I didnt even buy the phone and return it, all I did was cancel the in store pickup, and they brought the phone out for me to purchase as ATT Next. With this method, your eligibility wont even be a problem.

To clarify you told them when picking up at the store that you want to cancel it and re-order on Next before even processing the 2 year?

Man, weren't there at least 6 planes yesterday? This is it? There's virtually no stock change at all.

Yes, three South Dallas stores got them yesterday, including the Plus, and the North stores were the day before.

So I posted that I snagged a 6 Plus 64GB space grey at my local Apple store.

I already have an unlimited data plan w/ Verizon. So what I did was ordered it on a new line. Paid $399 for the phone plus tax = $424.34. Then I canceled the line a day later $350 ETF (if you do it within the first three days, Verizon does not charged you the $35 activation fee)

Total spent for the 6 Plus 64GB. $774.34 that's about $100.00 Less than paying full price for it at Verizon and you can get it sooner if you do the in store pickup. and keep my unlimited data. :apple:

Yes. Nothing was ever scanned through or activated, they just cancelled the pickup, and let me purchase the phone with Next.

Pardon my ignorance, is someone wants to buy an unlocked iphone 6 (plus), why would they buy the contract free tmobile version for $850 (64GB) or device only verizon in store for the $850 when they can pay

$399 + $350 (ETF) + $35 (activation worse case) = $784
by just cancelling a day later after purchase.. not currently a Verizon user if that makes any difference...

surely there is some other hidden costs?? (1 month of service? even though you only used one day?). It seems no brainer.. what am I missing???

I talked with Verizon about this and the guy was very informative and awesome. Not like the typical person I've spoken with before when needing info from Verizon.

Basically, you will get backdated and charged for a month of service. So while you can do this you will be billed for a month of service when all is said and done. I knew there was a 14 day time frame from initiating service before you can cancel, but didn't know you will get charged a month now. So add a month of service to those expenses and I'm sure it isn't worth the hassle.

It may still be for those of us with TMobile though. The second those TMobile Pluses hit the store they're gone in a flash online. The Verizon ones go slower so signing up and everything then picking it up might give us a lot better chance.

If consider doing it.

I do agree with you in that perspective. I will say that finding a plus on Verizon is very limited, too. The Southeast US is not getting stock worth a crap lol. Do what it takes to get one if you want it. It's a great phone and actually worth the hassle, to be honest.

Anyone have any luck in Michigan with an AT&T or T-Mobile 128gb gray 6? Haven't seen any pop up online in the last 5 days.

OK, I want a unlocked iPhone 64GB space gray from either T-Mobile or Verizon. T-Mobile stock is so limited in NY, its ridiculous. I sign up for istock alerts and when it's available and I go to check out I get an error. Then its unavailable in a fraction of second. smh. Anyways, I was testing the Apple site checkout and I added a Verizon iPhone since they're more likely to have in stock when available. I inputed "123456789" for SS and ID#, nearest address close to me, fake DOB, real email, 1st initial, real last name, then I got your iPhone will only be available for pick up at selected store. Apple may ask for depoist. OK what ever, fine. I want to go to store to pick it up but instead tell them I change my mind I want to pay for device only. Will that work? Will they just cancel the order and resell it for me at full price? Will I have to pay Verizon anything? I heard they may still have to fullfill the order by asking for your real information and activating and then you can cancel. The problem is, I dont want to do anything with Verizon. They will tell u ur contract is cancelled yet a month later you'll get a surprise bill. Any insights?

I've got a Space Grey 128GB T-Mobile being delivered today. I ordered it back on 9/19 and it was supposed to be delivered between 10/14-10/21. I haven't seen any stock online lately so If I want to exchange it, I might be SOL...

Saw ATT 64 SG 6+ this morning in an area that I wouldn't normally drive to for a phone (too far). But I'm going to be pretty close to that area tomorrow. So I went through the whole thing and went to pay. BOOM! The dreaded error occurred message pops up :-(

I haven't seen ANY 6+ ATT at my local store yet. It's always this way too. I don't now why they don't get the phones that so many surrounding areas get. Oh well I'll get mine eventually.

Wow, this thread is really slowing. Must mean these stock refreshes are few and far between. NorCal is dead. Is supply getting actually worse instead of better almost a month later because of the China release?

It is probably due to the launch in China happening on the 17th. I saw stock in Anchorage for the first time this week and got my phone so don't lose hope just yet.

It's so bad in NC that the only 6 (forget the 6+, there's none of that) inventory I can find (need to get another phone for a family member) is Sprint crap (cannot use it) or AT&T in only 16GB.

Good grief. I called my nearby Apple Store and even the store rep said she was totally amazed. Said they got NO shipment today at all.

None.

Which was weird, she said. Annoying!

especially for those of us not in the initial 12th pre order and got a color preferred over there like say gold:mad:

Last year we got it a bit over week before the prediction (october early to mid). This time it will probably slip into november, hopefully before thanksgiving.

I've had an iStockNow alert for a few days for a Silver AT&T 6 64GB, and both times I've seen an alert they've been claimed within minutes. Just today I got an e-mail, and literally within 30 seconds I pressed "Place Order" only to get the error that it's already taken. It boggles my mind that there are that many people with alerts for that particular model, and/or that the 10 region Apple Stores have gotten that little stock.
