Does MacRumors really need five separate macOS forums?

Not sure why it is a problem
Some issues are general, but some are very specific to the version being used
Helps to separate out relevant threads

I was looking into simplifying/ pruning down forums. Any other suggestions can be posted here.

Perhaps, but you can be sure no two people will categorise things in the same way across five similar forums.
That's excellent! Moving a query on the number of macOS forums to yet another forum. ;)

My preferred solution would be two forums: "macOS · General Discussion" and "macOS · User Problems".

Alternatively, three forums: "macOS · General" and "macOS · Current Version" and "macOS · Previous Versions".

No - Please leave things as they are. I really have no (now) interest in OS's prior to HS. Merging earlier OS's together with the current two, would, IMHO, be a BIG mistake thumbsdown.gif

I agree with this. I actually don't think there's enough. I'd have an individual forum for at least 10.4 Tiger and on-words if I was running the forum.
