For all the excellent features of this new design, they still couldn't figure out (or didn't want to) how to add simple volume controls.

Why couldn't you just squeeze and hold for volume up and volume down? Why not make it configurable?

Properly think you should have an Apple Watch to do that

Yes, I have one, and I do know about the "auto launch audio apps" feature, and I do use it.

However, it's less useful when the weather gets cold and you wear a sweater, jacket etc that normally covers the watch.

Plus it would make the AirPods better usable with something else other than an Apple device.

Thank you for all the tips!

Important note to AirPod Pro owners - only use noise cancellation when you are in a safe place. Probably not a good idea to enable it when you are on the street, a restaurant or coffee shop, public transit or any other location where you really should be aware of your surroundings. I'm waiting for stories of criminals sneaking up on folks wearing AirPod Pros to assault or rob them.

APP sound, seal, feature set much better (ANC/Transparency/BT5.0) compared to AP1/2, but that's given. Still prefer tap vs squeeze much much much more.

Pro AirPods Pro tip tip: for an improved seal and better sound make sure to put the left AirPods Pro AirPod in your left ear and the right AirPods Pro AirPod in your right ear.

Yet another time-wasting post. Why can’t we keep these threads on topic and useful?

Really good article. Thank you!

Good tips!
Though if you need to give a tip to how to Hold them-Remove them from the box is because the design of the case is really bad.

Would be nice if they could incorporate the option to “find my AirPods case” and not just the buds themselves. Have found myself putting them in but then setting the case down someplace not obvious, then having to search all over for it

Agreed. Presuming the “AirTags” eventually ship, I would hope that the hardware within the tag that enables them to be so precisely located and integrate with augmented reality, make it into every future Apple product possible. I think this would be a great thing to include in the AirPods charging case. I also believe this would be great to have in the Apple TV remote so you could easily locate it when you constantly can’t find it.

airpods-pro-ask-siri-battery.jpg

What is this nonsense?

First the user asks about the battery using the singular "how is my AirPods battery" despite there being 3 batteries involved

Siri accepts the question without correcting the user. Okay fair enough, she's not a grammar Nazi.

But then she replies with even more nonsensical grammar: "your AirPods Pro R[ight] are at 57%"

What is going on at Apple these days

If you do fly regularly then the answer is a pair of airpod pro pairs, one will recharge while using the other, if only they came in different colours so you didn’t mix them up!

You know what, I always wondered why do people gripe so much about airpods being only in white. But that is a great, functional, use-case for different colored airpods!

I agree with you just it’s likely why Apple didn’t add it

The menus to change some of things features are just too many steps! Also, I will never shell out that much money for something that probably connects just as poorly as the AirPods. And what I mean by that is when I'm switching to use them on my computer or my Apple TV. I almost always have an issue, and sometimes give up and just use another wireless headset that connects first try.

Explain how you're doing this. Once AirPods are set up on one device, they are automatically registered with all other devices linked to your iCloud account. Are you not using that feature?

You cannot obtain replacement earpiece tips AT ALL.
Tried Apple support, tried Apple sales = NOTHING.

If one needs to read a guide on how to take their AirPod Pro's out of the case the 'right way', Apple failed on that part of the design process IMO. A good design would have made it intuitive that pushing on the back of the earbud would swivel it out for easy removal. Seems like it's not intuitive if MacRumors made it the #1 step in their guide.

That being said, I'm becoming more and more interested in getting a pair of these. Still can't justify that price though, so probably going to either look at the AirPod 2s or another brand.

To add to my earlier post re: AirPod removal issues from case - I think it would be neat if, when opening the top of the case, the AirPods simply pop up themselves, just enough for you to grasp the top and then easily pull them the rest of the way out. Maybe their's good reasons against this, but just a thought. That way it would be obvious what step to take next after opening the top.

I can’t believe they didn’t fix that problem with this all new design. Most people store their AirPods in the case, as intended. But then good luck finding your AirPods if you left them in some pants or a coat and don’t remember. The only way to find AirPods is if they’re out of the case so it’s as if Apple were encouraging that behaviour. This is bad design.

I really hope they included the U1 chip in the case so that the AirPods Pro can take advantage of AirTag tech to be easily located.

To each his/her own. I just think things are just getting more complicated than they need be.

You seem kind of out of touch on this. Tech is advancing, it adds various triggers/features that have multiple functions with the use of one button, so ask yourself, how is one supposed to learn and take advantage of all these features without having proper instruction? So a ‘detailed user Manual’ _is_ necessary and should be provided by the manufacturer.
