Is GGJstudios still active in this forums?
Let's find out. I've been tracking GGJstudios since July 2010. Just like the NSA! :)

The graph has a point of inflection in January 2013, with a change of pace from over 30 posts/day to about 10 posts/day. Given that only 7 out of 869,242 forum members post that much, at least over the long term, that's a slowdown from very very active to very active.

Interesting. Is it possible to see a graph showing average post count per day by number of uses. For example how many uses post once a day/twice a day/three times a day etc. just trying to work out where my 4.56 average post puts me.
Like others I see a lot of names I hardly ever see posting in these graphs. But I guess it depends in which sub-forums you hang out in.

Also I would be interested to see the breakdown of posts by sub-forum. In other words were do most posts take place.
By the way if either of these are to much work don't worry. Just interested that's all.

You can see the total number of threads and posts in each forum on the forums homepage, and for subforums by visiting their parent forum, although this won't tell you which have the highest posting rates.

There are ways to calculate the number of threads that have been updated in a particular forum in the last x days, although I'm not sure of an easy way to do the same thing for the number of posts with our current setup (maybe Q knows a way). Alternatively the 2013 Post Report Statistics shows the forums with the most post reports, which might be a suitable approximation of which forums are most active.

I'd like to see the analysis but where the count does not include posts in the Mac Community.

Great work as ever Q. I thought I was not posting as much but nearly 100 posts a month still seems like quite a few!

pffft light weight :D

you have a life, and so given all that's on your plate 100 posts is really good :)

I remember when I used to make 30 posts a day! Good times :D

So do I. Had a rate of 31.7 in January 2011 calculation and now I barely make 10 posts a month. Still remember the busy launch days when 100 posts a day was normal for me.

Times were very different though. Had no job, school took much less time and didn't have to take care of my own things. I'm grateful for what MR has offered me as I wouldn't be in the position I'm now if it wasn't for MR. Learned a ton of things, hopefully taught a few too.

Since costabunny and I became a couple, my post count has certainly dropped off....but I don't spend quite s much time on the site as I used to. I do drop in daily still though, even if I'm using Tapatalk:)

Thanks to Dr Q for putting these together, they are always great to look at!

Maybe you can work on synchronizing your post counts, like the couple iBlue (19,176 posts) and edesignuk (19,107) posts.

She'll need about 10,000 posts to catch up, that's all.

I think I'l get a dog, call him life, so I'll have a life :p

I was on a tear this past 6 months, I don't plan on keeping up that pace for 2014.

Great job Q - I love reading about these stats.

With more time on my hands now, and projected hospital stays soon, I guess my count may rise, but I still find it hard to believe that I've managed to post over 12K in the two years or so of membership....I tend to post in bursts but since I'm now on my own again I will no doubt spend more time online....it's entertaining and I like to think I'm helping out at least some of the time....Big thanks again to Dr Q for putting the stats together.

It is always fascinating to read statistics such as this (and my thanks to Dr Q for taking the time and the trouble to put it all together).

From a few years back, I seem to recall reading a breakdown of how many MR members were on each of the user titles; is that still done, and, if not, why not? It was a fascinating read (essentially over 90% of all members had posted a very small number of posts).

One of the things I have liked about MR is that one can come and go (sometimes head off for months at a time, as life and various commitments take precedence) and then return, taking up the threads on one's MR identity and life, without any problems.

Anyway, fascinating thread, and thanks for putting it together.

Are you referring to this post? If so, the reason we can't do it anymore is the member list has been disabled, so we can no longer perform the searches required to come up with those stats.
