@Surely: Actually, you only make 6 posts/day, but for Doctor Q, it feels like 12.3 posts/day. ;)

I don't even see you in other forums. You're the guy in the NHL thread.

I'm around....you're looking at the forums wrong.;)

Or would it have been better if I just posted a list of links to my posts and nothing else?:p

I can understand fading away from here. I used to post much more in the MB/MBP, iPhone, and iPad forums, but I haven't found much to say that hasn't already been said in those places. Although I am considering starting a thread about how only one speaker is working on my iPhone. I could have sworn that both were working yesterday......

I've tended to lurk more than post on here, because in a lot of cases, people have already asked questions that I have, and so it just doesn't make sense to post for the sake of posting.

After getting my first warning awhile back (I honestly didn't know you weren't supposed to double post), I started checking things out a bit more, and found the New Posts and even cooler, Forum Spy, which gives me exposure to posts of interest, which may not be in the normal forums that I frequent.

So I think my post count has gone up, but I'd probably still be in the "Bottom 50" list

Perhaps I'm posting in the right forums? :p

I never said that you're posting in the wrong forums.......;)

Don't know what to tell you buddy, I guess you'll have to add me to your buddy list so my name gets highlighted in Forum Spy for better noticeability.:p:D

"Don't call me buddy, guy."

"Don't call me guy, friend."

"Don't call me friend, buddy."

...

If MRoogle didn't exist, some people wouldn't have any posts at all. ;)

It doesn't anymore :(

So looks like if I work hard, I'll finally breach the top 50. Thank goodness I suffer from diarrhea of the mouth and I can increase my posting habits :p

You might or you may succumb to the same fate as most other mods, you'll abandon this place. :D

I cannot predict the future, but I see a number of ex-mods still around here.

The entire membership of MR is quite dynamic. Some people come and some people go ;)

and some people you just cant get rid of.

And being a Demi wasn't worth it anymore once certain people stopped posting. It was like a little club. That includes Blue Velvet.

I find it difficult to disagree, though I still coughed up the 25 bucks yesterday.

I have debated ponying up the cash to rejoin since some of my other internet hangouts have gone belly up. I just don't know if it is worth the money for the "extra rewards" the way it was in the past.

I kick in the 25 bucks. Some of the benefits are worth it for me. People complain about what it was like before and that's fine but it can only get better by having more community input. So if you're wishing that it was more like it was, then pony up the 25 and start adding to the community :)

It's always fun seeing the top posters. I don't come around here like I used to when I did 20 posts a day, but it looks like GGJ is going to be at the top pretty soon, even if he/she drastically reduces daily post count.

madjew had a good run for a very long time topping your the all time MR list for years but will fall from the top if there are posters like GGJ.

Hellhammer's daily posts are far behind GGJ but will give him the #2 spot in the future. If things keep up, it could be GGj and Hellhammer way ahead of the pack but I don't think either can keep posts in the 20-30 a day range for long.

Someone could get a dream job that may require 60 hours or more a week, get married, and have kids and all those things could happen to anybody here in less than a year. One longtime internet poster friend of mine went from being a military spouse who had all types of free time for online stuff to a "working" person when significant other retired and basically fell off the internet and I am sure things like that happen a lot here. Another poster, here on Macrumors, grew up here as a teen, was a top poster for a long time asking a lot of questions about jobs and being an artist, went to college, graduated, and is now so busy they are inactive here. That person posted in the 50s on some days.

OP, I like your top members list better than the ones that came before since you explain a lot of members just off the list which were either at the top recently/even long-term or will become the next major posters here.

I kind of miss some former members who used to top the list like Spikey and Alphatech, but back in those days ten and eleven years ago it was more like Twitter or the comments on youtube and there was a lot less of a filter here. There are also some former PRSI posters who contributed a lot but are no longer here. Pretty much only a few of the top posters here are bullies or combative like many of the early top posters, but those former flamethrowers of this site's early days did give MR a flavor of a "Mac" community and I kind of miss them, but also kind of don't even though I e-mail some of them personally where they are far kinder as a person vs. as a flamewar hero on MR and other sites.

Though it's not a contest, many congrats to GGJ!
