“Exciting” seems like a very loose term to use. Nothing jumps out as functionally new.
Except for the Mac Pro... assuming the next one is Apple Silicon, and you want to see the maximum potential of those chips

Why, why the white bezel? I had planned on moving towards a new Air potentially, but a white bezel? Nope.
I’m sure there will be 3rd party coverups to lay a thin black film over the white, perhaps from a screen protector maker. No glue, more like static to hold it in place, so you can easily remove it for service if you need to.

Lossless audio over wireless would be amazing if it’s true
You’re right, it would be. But I doubt this would make the list of the ‘Top five’. What you’re asking for, is more of a feature than it is an actual product itself.

  • MacBook Air - The MacBook Air is getting its biggest refresh since 2010, which puts it at the top of our list. Apple is going with a fresh iMac-like design, which means the MacBook Air is expected to get fun new colors and off-white bezels and white keyboard like the 24-inch iMac. It's also going to get a new look, with Apple finally abandoning the tapered look for a more streamlined MacBook Pro-style look. Rounding out the upgrades, the MacBook Air is expected to be one of the first to adopt the M2 chip, a follow up to the M1. The M2 is rumored to feature an 8-core CPU and a nine or 10-core GPU.
  • Mac Pro - The Mac Pro is perhaps the most exciting product coming in 2022 because it will see Apple finishing its transition to Apple silicon. After the Mac Pro comes out, Apple will no longer be reliant on Intel chips, and the Mac Studio has shown us that the Mac Pro's Apple silicon chip is going to be impressive. The Mac Pro is expected to feature a chip that has up to a 40-core CPU and a 128-core GPU, double the M1 Ultra.
  • iPhone 14 Pro Max - All of the iPhone 14 models will be an upgrade over the iPhone 13 models, but we picked the 14 Pro Max because it's going to get all of the bells and whistles. It will not have a notch, with Apple instead implementing a dual display cutout look with a pill-shaped cutout and a circular cutout. It will come in new colors, include camera improvements, and have a faster A16 chip, which actually won't be coming to the iPhone 14 and 14 Max.
  • AirPods Pro - Apple is finally going to refresh the AirPods Pro in 2022, and they could have an all-new design that does away with the short stem at the bottom. Apple is testing a more rounded, compact shape. There are also rumors that the next-generation AirPods will feature support for Apple Lossless audio and improved Find My integration that will let them play a sound if they're lost.
  • Apple Watch Series 8 - Last but not least, the Apple Watch Series 8 launch is going to be interesting because there's a new model coming this year - a rugged model. In addition to the standard Apple Watch Series 8, Apple is rumored to be working on a more durable version of the Apple Watch aimed at athletes, hikers, and those who use the watch in more extreme conditions. A body temperature sensor and car crash detection are also rumored features.
  • The 2020 M1 MacBook Air was actually the biggest refresh of the model. I don't see how a slight redesign of the MBA is massive improvement.
  • The Mac Pro is really of all 5 items listed that one to watch what Apple does with. Can it be somewhat expandable or modular?
  • iPhone 14 Pro Max is yes another better iPhone, so why is it so exciting annually?
  • AirPods Pro, so it sees a refresh, what slightly better audio quality, and battery life? All new design, good luck on that thought. The current model is very good with what it offers.
  • Apple Watch series 8, I am not a Apple Watch fan so some new features maybe, but one of the 5 most exciting products coming, well we'll see.
Show me the Mac mini and larger iMac redesigns to utilize M1 Pro and Max maybe?

If you’re also waiting on Apple to put an HDMI 2.1 port on something other than an Apple TV, please “like” to let me know. Likewise feel free to disagree or laugh if you couldn’t care less. I’m feeling out and alone on the sidelines here, left behind by Apples new penny pinching hardware models.

iPad Pro is due for a proper upgrade! They've been busy with macs of course, but the design is tired now and makes no sense with the reggo iPad looking and being very much the same.

I think the new MacBook Air will be the biggest selling Mac ever. My M1 MacBook Air is simply amazing and is a game changer in the class. I can only imagine what it will be like with an M2 and a sleeker form factor.
IMHO if you really looking for something exciting, buy a discounted 14" M1 Pro MBP 8/14 now from some retailer, instead waiting for the M2 MBA. A sleeker form factor MBA with a M2 rumored to have 8-core CPU and a nine or 10-core GPU is not going to be anything superior to that. 14" 1600 nit HDR mini-LED display, 6 speaker atmos audio, larger battery, much faster SSD/RAM, more I/O ports. Guess this is an all a judgment call on how cheap you think the next one will be given to whats selling now, but Apple might raise prices like thy have on other new AS Macs. :)

I just bought the 2020 MBA M1 from Apples‘ refurbished page. I would have waited but my 2015 MBP 15” gave up the ghost. If the upcoming Air indeed has white bezels, I will be happy I pulled the trigger now. Truthfully, I am so happy with my purchase it won’t really bother me if they offer a black bezel on the upcoming MBA.

But why?. More megapixels camera compared to a 3 years old competitor?. Pill shaped hole for Face ID?. Not really game changer features, from my point of view.
I mean, I will “update” my 13 pro to a 15 pro max, but really don’t see much value on that anymore.
The stuff I wanted is suspended at Apple (touch Id under display, periscope camera, good front facing camera, better portrait mode,
Agreed. iPhone is the least exciting update of the bunch. If it weren’t for the subsidized business model, I think most people would hold onto their iPhones for at least 4 or 5 years and Apple’s market cap would be a fraction of what it is today. I’ll hold onto my iPhone 11 a year longer if I can.

Couch potatoes will also like the rugged Watch 8, and people surfing the Web

Maybe only the 14 Pro Max gets titanium

AirPods Pro 2 could be the best earbuds ever because it will be "truly wireless" and play lossless.
YEs! A waterproof, shockproof, flamewar proof, watch for extreme web surfing sports. If it comes with built in anti-banning from MacRumors, then I'm sold.

The new Macs are the most exciting for me. Not that I'm planning on getting anything more than the 16" MBP that I ordered, but it's exciting to see what comes, especially what will be in the Mac Pro. Will the new chip simply be the Ultra doubled? Will it have plug-in non-SoC RAM to supplement the SoC RAM, thus allowing up to who knows how much RAM? Will the plug-in RAM be off the shelf, self upgradeable, or will they twist it somehow to ensure you have to get it from Apple and pay the 400% Apple Tax mark up? Will it allow upgradeable SSDs? Will it allow other plug in cards and options? Will it still have some USB-A ports? Will it come with extra $3M wheels?

Surely, surely, there's a Mac Mini Pro due to drop anytime soon. The glaring evidence is:
1. No headless Mac with the M1 Pro chip. The Mini has the M1. The Studio the M1 Max/Ultra. Where is the M1 Pro?
2. They still sell an Intel Mini with extra ports.
Thus obviously, there will be a Mini Pro, with M1 Pro and more ports. Presumably in a new size in between the Mini and Studio, presumably with M1 Pro/Max options, presumably with a fan similar to the 14/16" MBP's, and presumably with similar ports as the Intel Mini.

Once they release the Mini Pro, and the Mac Pro, they will be free to completely discontinue selling Intel Macs if they so choose.

The biggest gaps in Apple's laptop strategy as I see them are:
  1. There's not a big laptop for sub $1500 (non-pro customers).
    • Portability isn't the biggest deal.
    • Between retirees for browsing, students for homework and games, and regular folks for streaming and working... I can think of a lot of people who would like a laptop with a big screen on their couches and desks.
    • I think this could be Apple's best selling computer ever.
  2. There's no laptop for executives.
    • If you don't need the power of a MacBook Pro, but you're certainly not the market for an "entry level" computer.
    • Aspirational and achievable consumer luxury has become part of Apple's brand.

Here's what I would do with Apple's Laptop lineup:
  • MacBook Air - Entry level
    • Available in both 13" AND 15"
    • 6 colourful options with white bezel and keyboard
    • Silver option *could* have black bezel and keyboard instead of white.
    • I'd actually rename to iBook
  • MacBook Pro - For the "Pro" customers who need the power
    • Available in both 14" and 16"
    • Aluminum with black keyboard is great
    • Just keep improving this line and drop the 13"
  • MacBook Executive - $2K+
    • Available in both 14" and 16" (I'm less clear on the sizing for this)
    • Maybe available in Starlight and Moonlight colours like the AppleWatch
    • Name could be better. It's not Pro but "Edition" has a stink on it.
I like it! I'm curious though, would the Executive have the high end mini-LED screen and audio? Is that the differentiator? That it is basically a 16" MBA with high end screen/audio, and executive colors? I really like it! Throw in HDMI and more USB-C ports, and ideally, a couple of USB-A ports as the cherry on top, and I'd buy one for sure.
