No iPad Pro 11 inches mini led this year?.
Should I replace my iPad pro 10.5 in for a 12.9in if I want mini led?
I don’t know if the iPad Pro line will be updated this year — maybe these will be early 2023. It seems odd that they would update this fall given the amount of products slated for that time. As for the 11”, I would guess this would get MiniLED, but they may just give that to the 12.9” (like not every MacBook Pro has MiniLED).

IMHO if you really looking for something exciting, buy a discounted 14" M1 Pro MBP 8/14 now from some retailer, instead waiting for the M2 MBA. A sleeker form factor MBA with a M2 rumored to have 8-core CPU and a nine or 10-core GPU is not going to be anything superior to that. 14" 1600 nit HDR mini-LED display, 6 speaker atmos audio, larger battery, much faster SSD/RAM, more I/O ports. Guess this is an all a judgment call on how cheap you think the next one will be given to whats selling now, but Apple might raise prices like thy have on other new AS Macs. :)
I’m super happy with the M1 MacBook Pro. I’m not after anything exciting or as some people here need, "revolutionary". I just think a new Sleeker MacBook Air will be the biggest seller in the Mac lineup. The only technical difficulty they would have in my opinion is the quality of the camera if they make the screen super slim. People will complain, but those people prefer magic rather than reality.

Maybe it’s just me, but if the rumors hold true for the MBA, I’m going to miss the wedge type of design.

  • The 2020 M1 MacBook Air was actually the biggest refresh of the model. I don't see how a slight redesign of the MBA is massive improvement.
  • AirPods Pro, so it sees a refresh, what slightly better audio quality, and battery life? All new design, good luck on that thought. The current model is very good with what it offers.
I don't think you are giving these 2 products enough credit.

As for the MacBook, M1 MacBook Air is based on a 3rd generation design (2018) that enabled some improvements (smaller bezels, smaller footprint, Touch ID) but also some regressions (no 3rd USB/TB port, no MagSafe, no SD slot).

The 4th design could be more than just a fresh new coat of paint. MagSafe is all but assured, as well as few other surprises (and probably also the controversial Center Stage camera).

As for the AirPods Pro, it is rumored to significantly improve the noise cancelling algorithm. Coupled with the possibility of it using an alternate radio (UWB?) for lossless audio and redesign that could improve comfort, it could be a massive hit. AirPods 3 hasn't been the success Apple had hoped, so I think Apple is putting extra efforts to make it succeed.

You didn't mention the next new macOS.

I hope they slim it down and get out all the bugs that the nightmare Monterey OS has been?

I would just be happy with a slim down bug free macOS like when Snow Leppard Came out. No New Features.

Just fix all the mistakes and bugs that Monterey has been and slim it down. Like 6GB instead of 12GB like Monterey.

I'm hoping for 1 more round of macOS for Intel Machines but something tells me the next my be Apple Silicon only

The Intel guys will be left with an unfixed mess called Monterey.

The truth is that, after all the talk and speculation and feeding of expectations by sites like this, if some type of headset isn't one of the devices coming in '22, the only thing lots of us will consider exciting is the Mac Pro. (The rumor sites are now doing pieces like this, trying to backpedal and soften expectations after having gone overboard earlier. But that seems a bit weaselly like they think they ought to be able to have it both ways.)

They are still selling Intel machines right now as we speak. I don't think they'll be cutting off Intel for quite a while.

We're five months into 2022 with the Worldwide Developers Conference on the horizon, to be followed not too long after by Apple's September event. The second half of the year is shaping up to be exciting, as rumors suggest we can look forward to an array of updated Macs, iPhones, and accessories set to launch. In our latest YouTube video, we rounded up the five products we can't wait to get our hands on.

  • MacBook Air - The MacBook Air is getting its biggest refresh since 2010, which puts it at the top of our list. Apple is going with a fresh iMac-like design, which means the MacBook Air is expected to get fun new colors and off-white bezels and white keyboard like the 24-inch iMac. It's also going to get a new look, with Apple finally abandoning the tapered look for a more streamlined MacBook Pro-style look. Rounding out the upgrades, the MacBook Air is expected to be one of the first to adopt the M2 chip, a follow up to the M1. The M2 is rumored to feature an 8-core CPU and a nine or 10-core GPU.
  • Mac Pro - The Mac Pro is perhaps the most exciting product coming in 2022 because it will see Apple finishing its transition to Apple silicon. After the Mac Pro comes out, Apple will no longer be reliant on Intel chips, and the Mac Studio has shown us that the Mac Pro's Apple silicon chip is going to be impressive. The Mac Pro is expected to feature a chip that has up to a 40-core CPU and a 128-core GPU, double the M1 Ultra.
  • iPhone 14 Pro Max - All of the iPhone 14 models will be an upgrade over the iPhone 13 models, but we picked the 14 Pro Max because it's going to get all of the bells and whistles. It will not have a notch, with Apple instead implementing a dual display cutout look with a pill-shaped cutout and a circular cutout. It will come in new colors, include camera improvements, and have a faster A16 chip, which actually won't be coming to the iPhone 14 and 14 Max.
  • AirPods Pro - Apple is finally going to refresh the AirPods Pro in 2022, and they could have an all-new design that does away with the short stem at the bottom. Apple is testing a more rounded, compact shape. There are also rumors that the next-generation AirPods will feature support for Apple Lossless audio and improved Find My integration that will let them play a sound if they're lost.
  • Apple Watch Series 8 - Last but not least, the Apple Watch Series 8 launch is going to be interesting because there's a new model coming this year - a rugged model. In addition to the standard Apple Watch Series 8, Apple is rumored to be working on a more durable version of the Apple Watch aimed at athletes, hikers, and those who use the watch in more extreme conditions. A body temperature sensor and car crash detection are also rumored features.
What do you think of our list? What are you looking forward to from Apple? Let us know in the comments.

So is the Mac mini not gonna have a new design? or at least the new M2 Chip?

The best one is the one whos price stays the same as last years. Oh wait, they are all getting price increases even though Apple silicon costs them less to make than buying intel chips. Funny how that works. Maybe if they can get them all to cost more than people can afford they can start renting everything instead of letting people pay it off and not upgrading for years.

I am in no way in the market for a mac pro nor am I a pro, but I am at minimum curious to see what’s in store for it. More as a bellweather I guess

Because R&D folks work for free, raw material costs haven’t jumped, and global logistics aren’t a nightmare.

I’d love to see MagSafe and colors come back to the Air. But white bezels and a non-wedge design would be two steps backward. Especially with the light bezels it’s a bit like the inmates are running the asylum that is Apple’s design shop.

I just bought the 2020 MBA M1 from Apples‘ refurbished page. I would have waited but my 2015 MBP 15” gave up the ghost. If the upcoming Air indeed has white bezels, I will be happy I pulled the trigger now. Truthfully, I am so happy with my purchase it won’t really bother me if they offer a black bezel on the upcoming MBA.
I did the same thing! I heard they were doing white bezels and a white keyboard, no thanks! I love the M1 macbook air, I can easily live with this for the next few years. Best laptop I've ever owned.

I respect the people who like white bezels, but I cannot stand them or the white keyboard. So I got the gold model.

That Air sure looks nice. I hope it turns out that way, white bezels, shape and colors. I don't need one given that I have the new MBP 16, but it would be tempting just because of how sweet it looks. lol. The only thing is, I hope they drop the Air name and just call it a MacBook.

High end Mac Mini. Will be ordering on day one. Paired with a 34” monitor, will be the best machine I’ve ever owned, and quite the processor upgrade from my 27” i5.

Crazy to think that a “lower end” machine will just crush what was the highest end iMac Pro from just a few years ago.

Yes I would say a second hand, base model 14" Macbook Pro is going to be better than a new Macbook Air and comparable in price.
The new Macbook Air is going to look great, and be a fun callback to the G3 and G4 iBooks of the past, but you can bet it isn't going to have any of those high end features. The Macbook Pro is going to be miles ahead, and the M1 Pro chip will be fast enough for years.
What a difference Apple has made in just a couple years! Not long ago there wouldn't be much at all differentiating a Macbook Air with a Macbook Pro.

What’s so special about this MacBook Executive that makes it better that an entry level computer…?
Because the Macbook Air is going to be aimed at young people. It's not going to suit the exec demographic, and the Macbook Pro is too overspecced and expensive.
As much as I hate the fragmentation I do think there will be room between the Pro and the Air. Already that is filled by the non-pro "Pro" 13" with touch bar, which even existed before the M1.
Unless I'm totally wrong about the new Macbook Air. I'm assuming it will be a colourful, light, low end thing. Maybe not!

I like it! I'm curious though, would the Executive have the high end mini-LED screen and audio? Is that the differentiator? That it is basically a 16" MBA with high end screen/audio, and executive colors? I really like it! Throw in HDMI and more USB-C ports, and ideally, a couple of USB-A ports as the cherry on top, and I'd buy one for sure.
The executive laptop would be an iPad Pro. Heavy computing is not their job really. Combine that with a slick 27 inch iMac and you have a very nice setup for those who needs to display their position.

Since money is normally is not an issue with busy executives that live on their laptops, I surprised you think a iPad Pro is all they need. It's all about "multitasking" and authoring/editing business documents with presentation's usually. I certainly think IPad Pros are useful. :D
