Maybe one day Tim will publish a memoir so we will learn more about these interesting times from his perspective.

One thing I will say though, I don’t understand why some people would think Steve would have done better than Tim when it comes to dealing with Trump.

Cook “kissing Trump’s ass” was such a blunder and will forever taint his legacy. First, he didn’t need to curry favor and denigrate himself (and Apple’s reputation) by “donating” to Trump’s inauguration and the gold circle because the tariffs were declared illegal. They’re also collecting interest on the illegal tariffs that the government collected. So win win for Apple. Second, now that Tim is no longer needed Trump takes a fat dump on him as he exits.

Tim Cook started the era of nickel-and-diming customers to increase profit: removing free cables, removing included power adapters, charging for iWork…and let’s not forget the Butterfly keyboard fiasco!

But I love my AirPods, Apple Watch, Apple Card, and even a number of services in Apple One. My M4 Mac mini is the best computer I’ve ever owned. I use my iPad Pro multiple times a day. The Neo might be the most successful Mac since the Bondi iMac.

I think Tim Cook is the best CEO in the country. We owe him our thanks for growing and strengthening Apple. Perhaps John can bring back innovation to the company.

Tim will be remembered as the first CEO to shepherd a company to 1, then 2, then $3 trillion in value.

Yes, the end of his legacy is tainted by pandering to an evil narcissistic tyrant. But Tim took that hit to protect the company. That’s what a good CEO does - prostrate themselves for the good of everyone else.

I agree, but not in the sense he ment, Apple.wpuld be different ? Sure, Steve didn't care about making stockholders happy, Apple.would probably not worth what it is today, but it would have kept changing the world.

Steve was a product guy, a passionate person for getting the best possible product, he cared about money, but not as the main goal.

While Tim did good, I think Steve would have done great for consumers.

Exactly my point earlier on Obama. The stock answer is to blame a different president instead of detailing anything at all. CEO's of Apple type companies lobby the US government. John Ternus was probably also selected because he would also have a 15 year rein like Tim Cook until he reaches age 66. Selecting anyone else would be too short and Apple likes to think long term for product development and to keep the shareholders reassured. Having someone already in the company for 25 years is a sign of reassurance.

Ternus was employed at Apple in 2001 at the age of 26, he is now 51. A 15 year run like Tim Cook will being him to age 66.

That takes time and The Administration can just label it something else leading to more delays. Tim did the smartest thing given the circumstances as time is money and doing the right thing is never a sure bet when unpredictability is involved.
