No Thank You to side loading
Why not? If it were allowed, it doesn’t mean you’d be in danger. Why should something not be added for those who want it? Because you don’t want that? Selfishness to the finest. You could just not use it. Apple won’t allow that ever anyway but it’s kinda dumb to have that selfish mentality.

Thanks for calling me names, appreciate that.
Enabling side loading will expose iOS users to malware etc, there've been plenty articles here and discussions.

Exactly. One of the reasons I always recommend iOS devices to relatives is I know they can’t side load something harmful. The amount of time I used to have to spend fixing their devices after they’d done something wrong was immense. Now they have Apple devices I rarely ever get called. As soon as alternative app stores or side loading is allowed all that protection goes away.

And then Steve Jobs rebuilt Apple into the greatest company in the world
Greatest in terms of what? I guess you've never worked at Apple, many would disagree and use Apple as an opportunity to get a higher position somewhere else.
And then Apple sells record iPhone numbers:
Apple only numbers, sure. Meanwhile Apples global iPhone marketshare dropped to under 14% and Apple dropped to #4 of smartphone manufacturers.
RIP to Google Stadia
Do you have any idea how many projects Apple is cancelling every month? The only difference is, they're not announcing things ahead of time. They're announcing things when it's already a success and (almost) ready to ship. By that point they've already had countless people outside of Apple testing it for ages with a NDA.

The VR project at Apple existed and has been cancelled for years. They'll announce that when it's measure... and might cancel it two years alter when people won't buy into it.

Apple VR is probably really fun and utilizes existing AR technology.

I’m not personally concerned with Apple having a monopoly.

My only pushback on Apple VR is like, your kid now saying “I want Apple VR,” when PS5 is still sold out.

I’m working on $150 Android tablets, what do I care.

If I had to guess, Apple is sitting on Apple VR because they’re still trying to sell Apple Watch Series 7, Apple 4K TV, M1 Macs, iPhone 13 Pro…

And there’s a die-hard group of Apple fans who would line up for Apple VR on day one. And that would be great PR for the company.

That said, Apple VR somehow makes Apple Watch Series 7, which is an absolutely amazing piece of engineering, look old…

Be very careful what one asks for. History, Apple dumped Steve Jobs for change. Not all change is good.
At the time that happened, that was probably the right decision to make - even if a lot of subsequent decisions made by the company were bad. But the Jobs they fired back then was not the same guy they brought back on board later - the one who saved the company.

Two sides…maybe Apple was a different company after the firing of Steve Jobs. A bit of age mellowing for sure. Same old driven person.

I'm skeptical about a white bezel on the new MacBook Air, as the notch would then also have to be white, and the whole "hide the notch" thing that Apple has going on for the MacBook Pro wouldn't work. A white bezel with a black notch would be even weirder. Just a thought...

If I were Tim I’d change policy to ensure all apps with IAP cost a minimum of $1.99.

Job done. This would prevent all apps from going freemium and reducing revenues to zero.

Yes.

And then Steve Jobs rebuilt Apple into the greatest company in the world, while Google employees used MacBook Pros over ChromeOS, and Windows employees used iPhones and iPods over Windows Phone and Zune:

So… continue?
To continue, luck happend at Apple. They made a forced change and essentially destroyed the company. Just so happens Steve Jobs made the Mac on the side and was willing to come back to Apple. Jobs was marketing to IBM and others his new system. Nothing but luck corrected their need a change mistake. Be careful what you ask for.

very afraid to duckduckgo "slideloading?
even with safe search on moderate-rare.
since i dont own a phone, i should not care?

How is it different than installing Mac apps from outside the Mac App Store? MacOS has security settings that allow you to configure if Mac should allow apps downloaded from App Store, App Store and identified developers, or override them to install any app. Is he now saying that Macs are less secure because of that?

Yes, he has done a great and excellent job. But we want "CHANGE". We want someone who can actually bring innovative Apple products into this world, something revolutionary. Tim Cook hasn't done that in a very long time. His main focus and goal is to revamp. Revamp the existing product line. That's about it.
What would you consider to be innovative or revolutionary? Apple is now designing their own Mac silicon for the first time ever. Look at the current iPhone compared to what we had 10 years ago. Various rumors point to AR/VR hardware and some type of entry into electric transportation. I could go on and on.

Apple’s user base is 1.5B+. Do these people not care about innovation, or has this user base grown because there is indeed consistent small and larger innovations with each product they release?

The amount of revolutionary products that this one company has produced — Mac, iPod, iPhone, etc. — is not normal. Even Steve Jobs said a company is fortunate to just have one product that would be considered revolutionary.

What exactly are you looking for that they haven’t delivered?
