Any amount of raw images in iphoto is a lot.

To be fair to the OP, RAW support is OS level on Mac, not Application-level, so iPhoto and Aperture would be using the same RAW post-processor.
Very true the software is meant to convert a jpeg image from the RAW image
automatically as soon has to try to edit it.
But again I was sending a jpeg image via email so regarding RAW images should be irrelevant
However, the question remains, why shoot RAW then use iPhoto? It doesn't make you l33t.

The pics was transferred from my old PC Laptop and put into iphoto by the Apple Store.

You're doing something wrong if that really is the case. Nevertheless, I see you cannot be convinced. I hope you get your refund and are happy with your new Windows laptop.
