Here's a solution: Put the touchbar ABOVE the F keys so the haters have nothing to bitch about and the lovers can love it. There's plenty of room on that chassis for another strip of keys.

As for MagSafe: For anyone that uses a thunderbolt monitor or dock, this will not be a welcome change. I actually prefer a single cable over the old style magsafe charger + dock cable.

I like the Touch Bar. I miss the ESC key, but Touch Bar adds some good controls, like sound and luminosity. Or rotation angle in some software.

Shame, I love customizing what i want on it. I'll likely buy the last, best Macbook Pro, and use it for several years.

How many regular keys would make it cost prohibitive to have as little LED screens? Ok, subtract one and ship it already. Any keys like this can be useful, even if its just the number keys that would be enough. As long as they are individual and behave like regular keys for those who don't want them, thats enough to reduce the costs of creating more eventually.

What if they could remove the Touch Bar and replace every physical backlighted keys with a key made of a tiny screen so that there is no need for different physical keyboards anymore...
The display on the key just get updated to display what it do...
Imagine benefiting from the AppleWatch always on display with a new version of the Touch Bar chip to allow it to work good...
This would be the best timeline... :)
Imagine for French Canadians or French Azerty people could get the keyboard on any Mac, all the time...
Imagine applications that can customize the keyboard for their applications...
The Mac become more than an iPad with a keyboard, it's now a professional first class work beast with all the sugar candy others can't copy for a while...
One can dream...

No tactile feedback and physical separation, makes you have to look at them and do not add them to your muscle memory. It was not well thought out. If they had separation, it could be useful, like Elgato's Streamdeck is.

Being a music producer, I had to remap volume up / volume down to the physical keys - CMD+[ and CMD+]. .. anything touchbar related is a huge pain. So many accidental touches, or on the other side non registered touches when you need to change the volume or anything else. Physical keys will be the godsend.
Not to mention, you can't lay down your fingers on the touchbar and be ready to touch the key when you want.
For example absolutely necessary - "Show Desktop" in mission control, is now not possible with touchbar. So had to remap it again to CMD+§.
I hate it so much, I can't even describe how bad it is.

The touchbar always felt like a solution in search of a problem. I found it more than a hindrance to productivity rather than a help.

I want them to remove the words “MacBook Pro” written below the screen.

it was much better on the 2012-2015 rMBP models when they just left under the screen free of text.

I absolutely detest the Touch Bar. Every fricken time I need to hit a function key I have to look at the keyboard.

Please make it go away!

Also, please, for the next round of MBPs, parallels/MacOS needs X86 OS emulation.
