Hello everyone, I asked about this problem in another thread receiving some response.

I'm almost sure a small looseness is normal, anyway, i attached a video. Whats is you opinion? The laptop is a macbook pro 15 2017.

Thanks and sorry for my bad english.

Best regards.
Mine is the same and I never thought it to be a problem. It's a button. Touch your keyboard keys and they'll make sounds too.

My first MBP wTB 256SSD had a loose TouchID button. Basically it has a little wiggle and a jiggle to it. Saw a sale on the 512SSD for only $90 more so I returned and upgraded from a 256SSD. Noticed immediately that the TouchID button was firm compared to the first one I owned. You could have a Genius Bar check it out, but I doubt they'll do much? If you are within the 15 day return policy you could swap it out.

Thanks for the answers, I'm getting an idea of the problem. I can not swap it out (i bough a month ago) and I do not have an apple store nearby, so I will try to call support but I doubt they can help me.

Thanks again and best regards.

I imagine it is like the buttons on iPhones and iPads. The power and volume buttons start out solid and no wiggle but over time, they wiggle. It happens as they are buttons that move and wear. My 2016 MacBook Pro has the same thing, started firm, now it wiggles a bit. It’s to be expected.

These days I have made thinks like:

I have gone to two premium reseller stores. All the MacBook Pro TB I played had loose power/touchID button, some more than mine and others less than mine.

I called Apple Support, the solution was to take the notebook to an authorized technical service.

The authorized technical service told me that all the MacBook Pro TB that had seen of this same model had this issue. I do not believe it.

I do not understand how apple considers that this issue with the power/touchID is normal in a 2500$ notebook.

This is another video, you can see that the looseness is increasing.

Thanks and sorry again for my bad English.
