I doubt very much whether this iPod will have games or any real substance unless we are talking about a release a year or more from now.

Apple going up against the PSP would be insane right now. They can't yet convince enough games developers to port their games over to mac let alone to a brand new portable games machine. I am not saying that Apple are not in the mid-term running on this one. Their name in the portable device market is huge as we all know, but when it comes to games Sony is HUGE...

I would be happy to eat my words.. Alas I don't think I'll have to.

Actually the Nintendo DS is the powerhouse of portability right now. It's outselling the PSP in every market. To take on NINTENDO in the handheld market would be insane. I don't see it happening either, though the top dogs over at Nintendo have stated their support for the design and innovation of Apple's porducts, stating particular interest in the iBook when they designed the DS Lite.

One, that thing is the size of a brick and two, it looks fake. If you know After Effects / FCP this is easy to do.

EDIT: Look here, http://infotyte.adc.rmit.edu.au/ipodtype/images/
This person is all about creating iPod concepts.

EDIT2: How 'bout a new shuffle? http://infotyte.adc.rmit.edu.au/ipodtype/images/metallic_upod.jpg

EDIT3: I hope to hell this doesn't happen!

So does the fake video mean there is no more meat to this rumor?
I'm confused.
As the Buyer's guide said, the current 5G is coming t othe end of its cycle. While I was hoping that the picture was true, I think that there is a good chance that Apple will release a new iPod by June. Hopefully this ipod will have all the amazing features that people are predicting it has. The only thing that makes me think that it might not come out on April 1 is that these new leather cases will only ship the middle of March. I dopn't see why they would introduce them and only have them ship for two weeks.

Mate! I never said it was real!
It is not that easy even if you know FCP/AE.
:)

I'm interested how they'll pull this one off. I don't think it will look like that faked leaked picture, as that was just a 5G with a larger screen.

I couldn't believe it at first. Just how much processing and graphics power must that thing need?!?!?! How would Apple integrate this technology into future products? A huge tablet/screen for Final Cut/Photoshop etc? It'd speed up pro workflows by quite a margin...

y do all care

apple in general are just over priced who cares what they got and who cares about how cool they look

facts
1 ipond is not best mp3 player out there but coast almost 40 to 60 % more then any other mp3

Hi-

I don't know whether this has been posted in this thread before (although I have done a couple of searches and nothing has come up... ), but I found this posted on another forum- http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6379146923853181774&q=multi+touch+screen+movie .

They claim it is technology which Apple has patented. Imagine if this was used in the Project Origami competitor... (*salivates*)

Yes, I posted this almost a month ago in a couple threads here on MacRumors. It's been posted, discussed, and re-discussed, but thanks for reposting it nonetheless.

A Minidisc

1) Can record without the customer having to buy expensive dongles.

2) Can play music gaplessly.

3) Gets better battery life than an iPod.
