@Trebuin: Yes, the remover tool works, might be limited to EN-US Windows 10, though... In my experience, it might be needed run it two times (i.e. again after rebooting).
To avoid any Test Mode manipulations in Windows 10, you can request the Microsoft cross-signed driver. You can contact me via email for details (a few posts above I explained why).
@All: Is anybody still using the 32-bit version of the Trackpad++ driver? (= using 32-bit Windows)? I'm sorry, it will be discontinued later this year. I think almost nobody is using 32-bit Windows with Macbooks anymore. So, soon only 64-bit trackpad driver architecture will be supported, for both Windows 7, 8 and 10.
@All: Today Apple officially supported Windows 10 by releasing Boot Camp 6.0 drivers. Please note that in some cases after updating the Boot Camp drivers it may be necessary to reinstall the Trackpad++. It's important to quit the Trackpad++ Control Module from its tray icon first, before starting the re-installation.
Dear forum Members, please consider writing right there after my post, are the Trackpad++ gestures and features working properly in Boot Camp 6.0 with Their specific generation of the Macbook / Pro / Air, and was the Trackpad++ driver reinstall necessary for your Macbook generation. Thank You!
Hey Vladimir, today i did istallation of Windows 10 64bit on my Macbook Pro 15* (2015) and after i setup and launch power plan && Trackpad++ but after reboot i got error message: "Cannot communicate with Trackpad++ driver", i tried to do re-install but to no avail. Help me out please.
@iphonoid: Sorry, but the old trackpad is even physically different, got the separate button, etc. I think no chance to properly support it.
@steve23094: Dear Steve, please try the following: manually delete the folder C:\Program Files\TrackpadPlusPlus and then reinstall the Trackpad++.
So far (of the thousands downloads last week) there were only two such reports, one from you and one from the user Semen right on this page. This issue seems to be not affecting the absolute majority. Maybe Boot Camp update or Windows upgrade could be the cause somehow.
Sorry, but the old trackpad is even physically different, got the separate button, etc. I think no chance to properly support it.
@iphonoid: Good news for you, man. Some people confirmed it works even being not officially compatible. But I never tested this old white Macbook, that's why I never added it to official compatibility list. Since I never tested this old white Macbook, don't install if the machine is mission-critical![]()
@iphonoid: Of course I cannot share emails of other people, but here is just one of such confrimations, I'm pasting without editing the conversation with one user from China:
User question via email: "I have a question before installing this lovely tracpad++.
I am using a macbook white unibody 2010 mid. With bootcamp 5.xx version.
I would like to ask if it is ok to install trackpad++ on this bootcamp system ?
Since it's neither macbook por nor macbook air. just mackbook."
My response: "Not tested, not known would it work on no. But it's safe to try, choosing Macbook Pro during the installation."
User response: "Thanks for your help.
It's working perfectly!!
Love your wok."
Update: Based on previous post by a user on this thread I installed bootcamp 6 on my macbook A1342 (2010 Unibody)
1. Installed Windows 10 from bootable DVD onto a blank SSD
2. Download Bootcamp V6 from links posted in this thread Page 2 I think. Installed a minimal bootcamp (bootcamp.msi only without any device drivers)
Open BootCamp.msi with Orca...(After you've extracted it from the .rar file)
Look for LaunchCondition and cut first 2 lines, "Privilege.. and Require Windows 7...", something like that.
Save it and you're good to go. (Don't launch Setup.exe, just open BootCamp.msi)
3. You will need to extract the following drivers from Apple directory of Bootcamp 6 source and point the driver update wizard to those corresponding folders.
4.right click on the windows icon on the bottom left and click cmd with administrator privileges and then type:
cd C:/users/TYPE USERNAME HERE/Downloads/Bootcamp 6/AppleBCupdate/bootcamp/drivers/apple/
then type
Bootcamp.msi
5.Voila. You have bootcamp 6
Reboot.
Just 'thinking out loud' - today is precisely one month since the last post. And nobody had reported any issues during such long time. Is the version 3.1d so perfect?![]()
