hey, just another Thank you! It's really cool to have the Windows 10 gestures support on Macbook. All work great with new Macbook 12". Vlad your work well deserves to be recognized by Apple and integrated into BootCamp.

@Cozz: Thank you very much for the feedback. By the way I have monitored what is offered with the latest PC notebooks' touchpads, and in my humble opinion they usually have less convenient Windows 10 gestures support, and also lack 3-finger dragging... So Macbook AND Windows 10 AND Trackpad++ has become THE combo. At least I personally like this combo ;)

@Trebuin: Yes, the remover tool works, might be limited to EN-US Windows 10, though... In my experience, it might be needed run it two times (i.e. again after rebooting).
To avoid any Test Mode manipulations in Windows 10, you can request the Microsoft cross-signed driver. You can contact me via email for details (a few posts above I explained why).

Thanks, signed up a couple days ago while I was at work...your drivers work great! Test mode is off. I'm about to work on some way to turn trackpad++ off while I'm in parallels...stop the autorun and run a batch that looks for something that will only show in bootcamp mode. I can easily target a network drive or lack thereof since I have parallels auto-mounting drives. It would be nice if it was built in the software. I'll post what I come up with.

@Trebuin: Thank you, it would be great if to find the reliable programmatic way to detect the Parallels or VMware boot, to be able to allow the Trackpad++ to load only in Boot Camp.

So that all other forum members clearly understand the topic, let me provide the explanation: Trackpad++ driver is for Boot Camp only (for the real physical Windows installation on a Macbook). When somebody shares the Boot Camp partition for booting the virtual machine, such as Parallels or VMware, the Trackpad++ cannot work in such environment, so it throws an error message. When you close the window with this error, you should be able to continue working with your VM environment. The possible solution for not displaying this generic error is to let the driver reliably detect whether it's running in real Windows, or inside VM. Remember 'The Matrix' movie? It's similar to detecting are you inside the Matrix or in the real world. And so far I was unable to find the reliable method of such detection.

@All: Is anybody still using the 32-bit version of the Trackpad++ driver? (= using 32-bit Windows)? I'm sorry, it will be discontinued later this year. I think almost nobody is using 32-bit Windows with Macbooks anymore. So, soon only 64-bit trackpad driver architecture will be supported, for both Windows 7, 8 and 10.

I would recommend keeping the 32-bit available, even though it may be old. I don't use 32-bit, but if anyone is using XP, they're likely running 32-bit.

@All: Today Apple officially supported Windows 10 by releasing Boot Camp 6.0 drivers. Please note that in some cases after updating the Boot Camp drivers it may be necessary to reinstall the Trackpad++. It's important to quit the Trackpad++ Control Module from its tray icon first, before starting the re-installation.

Dear forum Members, please consider writing right there after my post, are the Trackpad++ gestures and features working properly in Boot Camp 6.0 with Their specific generation of the Macbook / Pro / Air, and was the Trackpad++ driver reinstall necessary for your Macbook generation. Thank You!

Retina MacBook Pro 15" (Mid 2015 with AMD), just updated to Boot Camp 6.0 drivers and Trackpad++ is still working fine without any need to reinstall.

I just updated the boot camp drivers to the new version. Trackpad++ complained after the reboot. So I had to reinstall it. I am on a late 2013 rMBP 13".

@All: Thank You very much, exactly the feedback I've been looking for!
@semen: Could you contact me via email (you can click Contact link on the project's web site), there shouldn't be any error messages, I'll help you to resolve.

Anyone had any luck installing this onto a 2010 A1342 Macbook Unibody (I know it's not supported) but the windows driver sucks so bad and this driver just looks like...well the bees knees.

Thanks.

I have the exact same problem on a mid-2012 rMBP, Win10 Home 64bit. Tried reinstalling the driver and still the same error message, when I change settings through the Trackpad++ control panel it does not have any effect. (Registered user).

@iphonoid: Sorry, but the old trackpad is even physically different, got the separate button, etc. I think no chance to properly support it.

@steve23094: Dear Steve, please try the following: manually delete the folder C:\Program Files\TrackpadPlusPlus and then reinstall the Trackpad++.
So far (of the thousands downloads last week) there were only two such reports, one from you and one from the user Semen right on this page. This issue seems to be not affecting the absolute majority. Maybe Boot Camp update or Windows upgrade could be the cause somehow.

I ended up having the same issue. I reinstalled a few times and it eventually stopped having the issue. I can't tell you exactly how I did that, but it's working now.

Umm not the Macbook that I have (Are you confusing it with the previous white Unibody macbook - This is my one: http://www.powerbookmedic.com/views/A1342-Front.jpg

The old macbook has a seperate button - http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3239/2991289656_036efe6021.jpg

I don't mind helping out test beta versions if you make a modified version (that way you could help benefit a lot of users just check reddit/r/bootcamp there are many who have my mac and wish this app worked!)

@iphonoid: Good news for you, man. Some people confirmed it works even being not officially compatible. But I never tested this old white Macbook, that's why I never added it to official compatibility list. Since I never tested this old white Macbook, don't install if the machine is mission-critical :)

Oh that's smashing news. Is there any chance you could point me to some threads/people who've successfully installed it? I only ask because when I install T++ it asks me which model to choose air or pro, I assumed Pro and then click the earlier model in the pop up. Installs fine mouse still works etc after reboot but none of the 3/4 finger swipes work and it pops up with "cannot connect to mouse of something like that". If we're able to figure it out then you can add it to your list of supported device. I don't mind doing a tutorial if we're successful which you can then point people towards.

Thanks Vladimir!

@iphonoid: Of course I cannot share emails of other people, but here is just one of such confrimations, I'm pasting without editing the conversation with one user from China:

User question via email: "I have a question before installing this lovely tracpad++.
I am using a macbook white unibody 2010 mid. With bootcamp 5.xx version.
I would like to ask if it is ok to install trackpad++ on this bootcamp system ?
Since it's neither macbook por nor macbook air. just mackbook."

My response: "Not tested, not known would it work on no. But it's safe to try, choosing Macbook Pro during the installation."

User response: "Thanks for your help.
It's working perfectly!!
Love your wok."

Thanks, I actually managed to figure out how to get it to place nicely with the Macbook A1342 (Feel free to share this advice with others if they find they're in a similar situation to me).

Current Specs: Macbook A1342 OS: Windows 10
1: Installed bootcamp 6 using the method that I posted here:
Update: Based on previous post by a user on this thread I installed bootcamp 6 on my macbook A1342 (2010 Unibody)

1. Installed Windows 10 from bootable DVD onto a blank SSD
2. Download Bootcamp V6 from links posted in this thread Page 2 I think. Installed a minimal bootcamp (bootcamp.msi only without any device drivers)
Open BootCamp.msi with Orca...(After you've extracted it from the .rar file)
Look for LaunchCondition and cut first 2 lines, "Privilege.. and Require Windows 7...", something like that.
Save it and you're good to go. (Don't launch Setup.exe, just open BootCamp.msi)

3. You will need to extract the following drivers from Apple directory of Bootcamp 6 source and point the driver update wizard to those corresponding folders.

4.right click on the windows icon on the bottom left and click cmd with administrator privileges and then type:
cd C:/users/TYPE USERNAME HERE/Downloads/Bootcamp 6/AppleBCupdate/bootcamp/drivers/apple/
then type
Bootcamp.msi

5.Voila. You have bootcamp 6

Reboot.

2: Downloaded the latest drivers from Trackpad++ site (google is your friend)
3: I then installed the Powerplan Application and click yes to install bootcamp extras
4: Restarted
5: Right Click on Trackpad++ driver and install
6: Install Trackpad++ chose Macbook Pro (Touchpad is basically the same)
7: Let the computer Reboot
8:
Voila.

Thanks Vlad for developing the application! (Will contact you soon about a donation key)

I have a mid-2015 MacBook Pro Retina 13" running Trackpad++ ver 3.1cx64 and Power Plan Assistant ver 3.2a. It's been working great with one issue. The trackpad seems too sensitive and frequently, picks up what I'll term "ghost" taps. In other words, I'm not actually touching the trackpad...just close, and it registers as a tap. Is there any way to reduce the sensitivity?

@iphonoid: Thank you, great news indeed.

@Guitar4Him: Pressure at which the trackpad hardware reports the 1-tap event is hard-coded externally (not in Trackpad++), so currently no way to adjust. Have to tell, the trackpad is not too much sensitive for me... This long thread contains just one such report, so the sensitivity appears to be fine for most people. In any case, I do hope to be able to adjust it in the future... Just have to get how.

Just 'thinking out loud' - today is precisely one month since the last post. And nobody had reported any issues during such long time. Is the version 3.1d so perfect? :)

Haha, I'll bite :) Every time I reboot the computer, the mouse pointer speed is reset and is often slower than I want it. Why is a reboot causing this?

@calkenneth: As currently implemented, trackpad shares the pointer setting with Windows system (so if you plug the mouse, it will inherit the trackpad setting, and this will happen again after reboot). I fully agree it might be not optimal, too egoistic to mice :) In the nearest future I plan to provide the option to not override the system mouse speed dialog setting.
